I don't get it. Since when did 'reincarnation' be brought up in a Mafia-like one-shots?
The title confuses me as much as the plot. "Hello Baby"?..the ending sounds like "Bye Daddy" to me.

Uhhh.. just so all of you know... I'm pretty sure the younger guy wasn't really a younger brother... I'm pretty sure he was just calling him "big bro" as a sort of sign of respect or something...

The "What the hell, it looks just like him" thing is confusing, isn't it?
That's what I think, anyway. The whole reincarnation theory isn't bad, either.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Those are the last thoughts of the guy who dies. If you read the manga carefully you'll see that all of the side thoughts belong to him. Maybe he didn't believe that Aya cheated on him and kept hoping the child was his? But in the end the kid really looked like Taku-chan.

that would b my second most plausble option.....first is
Spoiler (highlight to view)
he realized that the baby isnt his, but as he died, he ceased to care about who the baby belonged to..he experienced the birth of life and he was just reborn right into that baby- his soul didnt get the rest as a normal soul would, he was already reincarnated
Too farfetched?

that is indeed a great manga, one of my favorites even though is just an oneshot
i just want to say that the last line, the one that provokes so much controversy is wrongly translated

instead of saying "it looks just like him" , kai says "it's mine", that's why he says "what the hell" before and he's smiling at the very end

Yeah, in the version I read it said "What... it looks just like me... How's that?" Then he dies. Love the irony.
The confusing thing is why did Aya hug him before and be alll like "my baby and I will wait for you whether it's ten or twenty years"? Sounded like she actually loved him... but then half a month later it seemed like she wanted him in jail. So weird. Maybe before she just felt guilty? Or like someone already said, even though the baby is his she wants Emoto, the younger guy, to bring up her child because he's more reliable.

I don't think he's his real brother...you know gangsters call others "Aniki" or something, so I don't think they are related by blood, and I'm hoping the baby is his...and his brother raises him like a bastard, wahahaha

hmm didn't get how the baby came out with dark hair and then when they brought him a little more closer, he suddenly had light hair...I think it was taku's baby in the end, and that Aniki was mistaken the first time around and was like 'it's mine?' and then the lighter hair he sees and thinks 'oh..'
anyway the guy was dying, so while his brain was slowly dying he might have just had some kind of an illusion.
also, I didn't think they were brothers either, I took Taku to be a close friend and that's why they are considered 'brothers'

the "bro" used in this manga is just something that really close friends call each other.
Maybe the 2nd dude and Aya teamed up to make a lie so that the main dude will carry out his mission with no regret because he was worried about the son, if the child isnt his, he wouldnt mind going to jail.
http://www.onemanga.com/Hello_Baby/0/27/
Aya said "no choice left, Taku-chan, no choice" , they probably came up with the idea as a backup plan
But they didn't expect him to suicide
or, the reason why it ended so confusingly is because it's supposed to make the reader become interested in the manga, popularity will allow the author to to make it into a real, ongoing manga...
loved the manga, my "bro" also betrayed me... ,,|,,

Too lazy to read everything u wrote thought the thing is that there is another page where the ending is different;
http://beta.onemanga.com/Hello_Baby/0/01/
and I think the ending where it says "it looks just like him " is wrong .. maybe a wrong scan since
SPOLER!
because in this ending he thinks "he looks just like me"
I think onemangas ending is better personally
PEACE!
