I didn't know bakuman was written by the guy who wrote deathnote. that just makes it all the more worth reading for me. i think this series will be good on its own and not in a deep twisted plot kind of way.

I liked death note but never knew this and dn were by the same person, just got into it cuz i was lookin for new mangas. Bakuman is real original and it gives people incite on how hard it is to become a manga artist/writer and many other things about them.

I remember following To-Love-Ru because of Black Cat but To-Love-Ru is just... but I love the art.

Even though Bakuman isn't as thrilling or clever as Death Note (there just isn't any need for it), I still like it very much.
Of course, the art is great. But what really confuses me is how Ohba can write such an exciting story with this premise... he's really impressive.
Anyway, I strongly recommend it.

I started this tonight and read it all in one go.

So to be honest I was on Onemanga and saw Bakuman and though hmm, lets give it a go. I started and 5 hours later I'm here and thinking its pretty good, I saw somethings coming and I liked seeing the things Mangaka's have to deal with and I like all the references and mentions of other manga's [Death Note, To-Love-Ru, Naruto] It seems all pretty amazing to me and I'm definately going to keep on reading.

BTW I love the expressions and faces of the characters at times.

The premise of the story in the beginning was absorbing at first, but I couldn't exactly "enjoy" Bakuman for some reason like most users here had said. However, I am just forcefully reading the chapters out of curiosity...

I loved death note, and I'll be honest I started Bakuman just because its the same pair of people, but to be honest now it is that I love the story and characters and just can't get enough!

some people say that, people read the manga bakuman only because of the fact that its the same author as death note....
but i have to agree and disagree at the same time....
i think alot of people started to read bakuman cause of death note, but i think people continued to read bakuman cause its good.... cause due to the fast pace and competitive nature of mangas, im sure readers would easily feel betrayed if the manga starts to suck, just like bleach
