hey guys
I started reading Gokusen and quite enjoyed it
But I have a very big problem with it.
I don't like to read/see swearing and nudity...which appear too often in the manga (I only manages to read chapter 1), but the thing is in 1 chapter I got really into the story.
so I was wondering if anyone could help me by advising me in which parts of the story to avoid?? as it is right now, I'm not reading it, but with help I'm sure I could smile

thanks smile

well...swearing is everywhere nowadays its very hard to avoid...I wish there was a version without the swears

its good to know there isn't much nudity...but my shock and horror were too great when I saw a page (I think it may have been the first?) in chap 2 which I would class as nudity...

is there more stuff like that (and tell me so I can avoid please!!)?

I don't like stuff that others might even term as mild

Either deal with it, or go watch the drama >_>

So...what...you'd just completely skip those pages? "I'll read page 21, but skip 22, 23-25 are ok, but then I'll skip 26..." confused

I think you'd better just find something G-rated instead, because if you skip every page that has even mild language or innuendos or whatever, you're going to miss out on a lot of the humor (and probably significant parts of the plot, too).

no I wasn't thinking of skipping pages to avoid bad language

but yes, that was definitely my plan for nudity

I don't mind missing ut on parts that have stuff I don't want to see...in fact, I [i] to miss those parts. If I miss the plot and stuff too, thats my loss, but a compromise I'd make any day
and thanks, I also read other stuff

really guys, I don't want a moral discussion or anything, just some advice, so please...?? cry

I don't think it's been a "moral discussion"; I'm certainly not debating the "morality" of the manga or anyone reading it.

The fact is, Gokusen has mild nudity & swearing throughout - it's about high school boys & yakuza, so it'd be pretty weird if they were all G-rated all the time. laugh I don't think it's really possible to avoid all it unless you find someone who wants to produce an edited version that cuts it all out (which IMO would kill the manga), therefore my advice is to read something else. eyes

I think this was the picture that bothered you: http://www.onemanga.com/Gokusen/2/05/. The same picture is shown a few times later in the chapter.

I wouldn’t judge the whole series based on this image. I can’t really think of any other images you might call nudity in the series, although it’s been a while since I’ve read the earlier chapters. You probably don’t want to read a bit in chapter 7 of volume 12 (that’s chapter 120 at One Manga) though.

Depending on how censored you want the manga, I suppose I could tell you what to avoid. I can understand wanting to read a manga, but not liking some parts. It all depends on what bothers you though. I don’t know what bothers you and how much it does. At some point it’s not worth reading the manga and Gokusen may just not be a manga for you. It's certainly not filled with pictures of nudity though.

I agree with TofuQueen...and what about my advice?
Seriously, deal with it or drop it. If you're really that desperate, go watch the drama. There's no reason to discuss this anymore.

no you are right, it hadn't been. But I didn't want it to evolve that way

krmmlk- thanks for that smile

scyfon: It's quite simple.
I got interested,
wanted to read it but also wanted to avoid parts
therefore asked for help
if no help comes, I won't read it.
I'm not desperate but it doesn't hurt to take the chance to ask for help

=======================
I'm really sorry to cause annoyance for people, I only made this topic I guess for a sort of list of 'avoids', if it were possible. I didn't mean for this thread to go in the direction that it did.
I understand that a lot of people don't get why its a big deal, I ask that you understand that different things are important to different people
sorry guys...

this is a kinda late response, but theres no real full nudity after that. her fellow female teacher is shown wearing underwear (but no privates shown), and the guys who live with her are shown in loin cloths (just there butts r shown) and thats about it ^-^

I feel it kinda takes away from the whole story...there really isnt a point in reading the manga if you're skipping everything. maybe the drama would have been better suited.
