I'd want someone who's "as otaku" as I am. Maybe not too into it, but into it would help. But who says similar interests make someone actually better for you? I guess it all depends. Anime/manga isn't a huge part of my life anymore (just look at how often I post nowadays) since going to a university has killed most of my time, and I don't need a guy who's always into one thing.

Nah I wouldn't mind. Then they'll actually understand what the hell i'm on about and why i buy so much manga XD laugh

But really and truely, it does depend on the person and their personalilty. Liking anime and manga would be a bonus I suppose.

Depends on the person!!!

I would date with a casual fan!! but an otaku, It's too much for me and also I'm greedy, I like to be his number one!!! I don't go for second place!!!

I really dont mind it either way but i am in a relationship with an otaku biggrin albeit not as big a one as me but she is still one bigrazz so i guess that puts me under the category of "all ready in a relationship with one" smile

Depends on what the definition of "otaku" is @_@

Like if otaku = never leave room, and the whole room is covered with bishoujos and pink-ness, I don't think I could ever date one o_o

But if otaku = a fan of anime/manga,
then sure (well still depends on the individual person)

I chose "No way – I only date normal people" because I've already dated one and it was a HORRID experience. no

it honestly depends. i dun mind if he's an otaku as long as he's a good guy, respectful, intelligent, and can hold a decent conversation. that's all i need. smile

That was sad, he had to give her a script at the end to have a decent conversation...

I voted for the fourth option. Although I'm more of an otaku than him. biggrin But I got him into watching Hana Yori Dango with me. Good thing he watched the Taiwanese version, so we have conversations of comparing the series. I was also the one who influenced him to watch Death Note. Hahaha. But he doesn't read manga like I do...he only watches mainstream anime.

But we've been together for nearly four years (just three more days till our anniversary lol) and being an otaku is one of the things we share. biggrin

otaku or not otaku who cares.... i think it all depends on gettin along nicely. doesnt matter the interest of one... you know.. i would even date a serial mass murderer. as long as she doesnt kill me. im cool wit it. people got their own opinions and way they view things (their own interest)... who cares if u enjoy slicing people up. its ur own hobby i hav no right to say otherwise. as long as we r able to get along. its all good. and normally the first step for us to befriend someone. we learn their interest.. and try to understand and see why they enjoy such a thing. then you are then able to get along much more nicely. biggrin

edit: typo. re typed...

Shared interests are good because it gives you something to talk about. They would at least have to be a geek somehow whether it's manga, american comics, videogames, star trek, etc. I just can't deal with someone who is so uber nerdy that they're incredibly socially awkward. They need some sort of charisma!
