well gonna put my post betweent the conversation 🙂 well my favorite books are mostly fantasy but i read some others too well from fantasy ive read forgotten realms and dragonlance and everything like them (have read the nearby library empty of all fantasy and most action and war literature that im interested of you could say im fanatic about a book i like i read the lord of the rings in about 2 days and eny book that has less than 300 pages is done in about 2 hours
ps.sorry if my post is a bit messy 🙂
ps. oh yeah wheel of time that i forgot

yes....for a person who reads that fast....you sure got a hell of a way to spell words.

Sometimes, it's not the speed, but rather 'did you get the book's meaning' kind of thing.

And also, Memoir of Geisha, that's a completely accurate summary. It's about a dancer who turns into a prostitute. The end.

I'm gonna go ahead and list the book series I'm reading/I've read/am planning to read:

Conclave of Shadows(Trilogy)
Dreamtime(Trilogy)
His Dark Materials(Trilogy)
Riftwar Legacy(Trilogy)
War of Souls(Trilogy)
Red Pavilions(Trilogy)
Guardian Cycle(6 books)

That's pretty much all I can think of now, I've ready too many to remember them all 😳 . They're all Fantasy-Fiction as it's my preferred genre.

I liked "Stupidest Angel" and "Dirty Job" by Christopher Moore. "You Suck" was fun too. These are all contemporary fantasy/ humor/ absurd-ism. Here's a peek in these books.

Stupidest Angel - A Christmas wish gone wrong when the stupidest angel (he likes snickers bars) grants a boy wishes to bring murdered Santa back to life. ( But we all know what happens when you bring the rotting dead back right? lol)

Dirty Job - Selling soul vessels? You bet!

You Suck - Mix 2 fledgling vampires, goths, druggies, a blue hooker, Christopher Moore and you get this book.

First of all I have to say that it was posts like these and the memeber contribution that led me to join this forum.

When I was little my mom tried almost everything to get me interseted in reading (none worked though 😀 )
At age 13 I was introduced to Goosebumps and that's when I got into reading
I have to say I've read many many books not so much literature and philosophy as some of you but I've read some. Many interests are mainly: sci-fi, fantasy, horror, thrillers.

I'm a big fan of Anne Rices work it's enchatting

@ janne1990
I've read all those 3 trilogies by Robbin Hobb and the were terrific i hope you enjoyed them as much as I did

p.s. Have you read the Wind Singer trilogy also by Robbin Hobb but under her real name

Actually, I liked Memoirs of a Giesha, also. Well, I don't really remember it well, just that I like it, and that a few parts were just ... eww!

I also read some of the Dragon Jousters series by Mercedes Lackey not too long ago (well, like 2 years maybe - mangaon the brain!) and I thought it was a nice series.

hum. artemis fowl. i think that's the one book out of all those you've mentioned that i've heard of... haha. I think I may actually go out and borrow it from the library to read it. ^_^ it sounds like it'd be a good read.

and ahem it's 6am here... and I haven't slept yet. ^_^;;; hah. is more guilty

It is, or at least I think so. There are currently five, and I'm not sure if he's finished writing the sixth yet.

Nice to know I'm not the only one that forgets things like going to sleep. 🙂

You obviously haven't read the book, or you would know that isn't what happens. Just out of curiousity, do you know what geisha means?

I've got the first four Vampires Chronicle books! Aren't they supposed to tie in with her Mayfair Witches books?

I abosolutely adore Robert Heinlein. Not only for his captivating characters and science fiction tales but also for his social and political commentary incorporated into the themes of his books.

@xShatteredSoulx
Yes you're right but that only happens in the final two books of the vampire chronicles, yet the fourth book "Tale of the Body Thief" is also slightly mingled with the mayfair witches since it involves one of the main characters David talbot.

In "The new vampire chronicles" there is one book that tells how a pretty powerfull mayfair that was in love with David becomes a vampire

I don't have good imagination, so I never enjoy to read a story without any visual appearance. Other than manga I read only stuff that has to do with my study field.

Geisha is someone who only sells their art, not body. They are 'suppose' to stay pure. But the girl in the book didn't, did she?

I still say, Memoir of Geisha Mad TV shows an excellent impression of the real one.

A geisha is an entertainer and they are not expected to remain virgins, they are expected to not sleep with their customers.

Where do you get the authority to say this if you've never read the book?
