Looking for a manga where the protagonist is mute (cannot speak) for at least most of the story if not the whole story. The muteness can be from birth, because of throat/mouth injury, psychological trauma or any other involuntary cause, but the main character MUST NOT BE ABLE TO SPEAK AT ALL for most of the manga.

Any genre except hentai is ok, but NOT a comedy please. I prefer a serious or at least mostly serious story.

Shion no Ou
Aoi Kiseki - for about half the manga, I think?
Sad (Lovely) Words
I Want To Hear Your Voice

Hmm, these fit, but not really... They're main characters, but not really THE protagonist... And they usually appear 10+ volumes in the story. But they're both good manga, anyways.

Berserk - One of the main characters loses her voice and even becomes a "retard" because of some traumatizing experience.

Vagabond - He gets introduced late in the story, but he still plays a substantial part in the manga. If you want to, you can just skip to his arc, since he has this huge arc that could be a stand-alone. He's deaf, which basically makes him mute. Kojiro.

Ah, found it. His arc starts at chapter 128.
You should read the whole manga though!

Goodnight Punpun kinda fits. The protagonist doesn't really talk much and everytime he does the narrator takes it for him. That's kinda mute

Bukiyou na Silent is very kinda, but can't really recall...
