I've looked through the other posts of people asking for action adventure series but none of them were exactly what I was looking for.

I'm looking for a series with a specific "flavor". The word "mature" comes to mind but I don't know if it accurately describes it.

Basically I'm looking for an action adventure series with a more serious feel. Nothing with any goofiness, though I thought about searching excluding comedy, but that'd get rid of series' with a little humor or comedic relief.

A couple examples of what I'm looking for are: Vinland saga, claymore, ares, Shingetsutan Tsukihime, 7 seeds, alive, basara, trinity blood, red river(though its borderline).

An example of what I'm NOT looking for: one piece, fushigi yuugi

Also, I hate "episodical" manga. I'm looking for an adventure series specifically because with them odds are it has a clear goal to be reached.

These are more action than adventure for me (which is true also for Alive to me so I hope you don't mind):

World Embryo For now it is more serious than Moriyama's last work (Chrno Crusade, which was good too, maybe you can try it too).
Gunslinger Girl I know it's totally different but if you don't mind a real deep story with very depressing themes, this is a masterpiece. If you just want action, then skip it.
