wow it seems alot of people are confusing with something being generic to something thats not liked.

anyway all harems are generic they all have many girls after 1 guy plus a bunch of stereotypes and you know reverse harems are way more generic then alot of the ecchi harems.

PS. when you look at a people, look at how they are the same to you, when you look at art, literature, music... look at how its different to the others.

Dude, I agree with what you're trying to say, but go read Maken-Ki and try to find ANYTHING that isn't generic in that manga. And if you do, I bet I could find a list of stories (They don't even have to be manga), that has done it before and has done it better.

no worries i understand perfectly. i think makan-ki was so boring i stopped reading at chapter 3 it was boring and niether the art or the comedy was enough to make me want to continue. i wanted to say something about originality to but i suck at communicating so my previous post is enough. plus to me i felt like people were to busy dissing the really good reads naming the bad reads i mean come on do you know how many females have read love hina.

i just realized Ii hito is a harem by definition of what a harem is

reverse harems are just as generic hell even more infact as regular harems so wwhy are none of you listing shoujo names.

Thank God someone else understands how horrid Maken-Ki is...

And the only shoujo I've read was Peach Girl, so i can't really help you there...

Virgin Na kankei

Reading this manga pissed me off. The male character is a perv who sleeps with random women whenever his g.f ignores him a bit or thinks that she's not giving him enough attention. I f*cking hate ppl like this..

and ofcourse, it's painful to read b;coz of the same sexual acts that he repeat all over again...and that the girls eerily look so much like the chicks in Ah! My Goddess...

I wonder why the mangaka didnt even bother making this manga as a hentai manga rather than categorising it as "Mature, Ecchi, Harem"??

I think Takahashi Rumiko started the harem tradition (think Urusei Yatsura) not Love Hina. Ironically her works are still not that generic and stupid compared to a lot of followers.

Most generic is probably To Love Ru. Most harem or reverse harem - it's not that they use repetitive stuff (if something is really good why not use it again and again?); it's that their stuff is never interesting and tasteful. I feel like wasting my time reading them. That's just my thought.

Ai Kora, really? I thought that the body parts fetish and the fact that he's a competent, self-admitted fetishist was pretty unique. I can certainly think of alot of other harems that are more generic. What would be a unique (relatively speaking) harem to you?

why does ppl think that love hina is bad example?
i really don't get it... 🤢
for me...all harem manga obviously generic~ no matter how u look at it, its their genre anyway. i don't have any problem with it
and i don't care as long it has a good story, good art, and good ending~ as long as i can be happy when i read those manga...coz harem romance manga meant to make the reader happy~

sometimes the mangaka wanted to make it a little different with another harem romance manga, but unfortunately, sometimes it can be turned out that ppl would hate it~

don't ever try to find an action manga without a fighting scene on it...and, don't ever try to find a harem romance manga without something ecchi inside it...coz, each genre have their own trademark!

when i looking for a harem romance manga, what i seek is : the good story, the good art, the good ending, and the good ecchi scene . 😛
if that manga doesn't contain those 4 points, i'll call it a bad example even though it is different from the others 🤢

Rosario + Vampire fits the bill I think. I like the art, but there has not been much character as well as relationship developments. It's pretty much a "stick-to-the-male-protagonist and-don't-let-other-girls-near- him" plot.

I love you.

I didn't think suzuka was a "generic" harem at all. If you want plain out generic then i guess Love Hina?(which was still good)

Love hina is not generic it was like a classic in its time (1999)

~I will not allow you to call my favourite manga (and my second manga I read) to be generic.....

i'm not trying to offend you or your love for Love Hina, just sayin it's generic it didn't do anything notable that hadn't already been done in other Harem mangas
