o-o
I would love to go to a con.
But I would NEVER ever dress up unless a friend does it with me for fun.
I seriously love manga and anime, but I'm not so obsessed that I go around calling myself an otaku on TV. (>.> American idol. Otaku is an insult...)
The only thing manga/anime related in my room are the manga on my bookshelf. Let's see...that's like 10 volumes.
The only people I talk to about manga/anime are my cousins because they know about it better than me.

Eh..I usually announce that I love manga upon meeting someone..If I had any anime/manga shirts, I'd wear them in public, I go to conventions, and have gotten 5 of my friends to become manga fans when before meeting me, they had never heard of it. I don't cosplay (Especially not outside of cons!) but I don't understand why anyone would be ashamed of reading manga. Nerds shall inherit the earth, y'know.

I just read. No figurines/plushies, no conventions, no cosplaying, no jewelry, and no pictures on my desktop or room. If you saw me in real life, you wouldn't know that I read manga.

The line goes up to the extent of talking about manga... There's a lot to talk about eyes and a lot of people to talk to! That's because in my school, there's many people that read manga/watch anime! I think we even have an anime club. xD
And I also hang around the manga section at the local bookstore where there is always one or two other people reading. biggrin

I only dress up with my friends. I'd never do it alone. XD

But see I hate people like that. (No offense, really)
You can't survive in the world with such a narrow view.
Half of my friends know about anime half don't. Just because we don't share all the same interests doesn't mean we can't be best friends.

It's like you look down on people for not liking anime and thats just wrong... no

I'm not embarrassed to say to people that I like manga/anime when they ask me, but I don't shout it out to every single people I see.

If I had an anime t-shirt, I wouldn't care if I wore it. I also wouldn't mind putting on small anime/manga accessories since no one knows what it is anyways.

I've never been in a convention, but I'd like to go one just to experience it. I would NEVER cosplay unless someone forces me to.

I have a small collection of manga (I think about 20 volumes) and one poster and wall scroll. I'm also in an anime club.

Oh, and I admit that when I just started to read/watch manga/anime, I used to use Japanese words and phrases a lot, but that time has past. roll eyes It's pretty embarrassing, now that I think about it.

I don't go to conventions, but I would go to a few if I could. I don't dress up. I don't openly talk about manga and anime unless either I know the person well or they were talking about it first.

I won't collect figurines and put them in my room.

I wouldn't wear anime/manga related t-shirt. I do however had a gurren brigade necklace which I wear every now and then (it is rather small and awesome ^^)

I wouldn't buy a big poster of anime/manga but I do have a collection of manga in my room which is relatively small, only about 12volumes so far.

I wouldn't cosplay, because I know I don't have the physical features required for most characters and I certainly don't like to spend time getting a dress ready, its never been my kind of thing. I have however had a friend who made me a costume, I was happy to wear it since I didn't have to put any effort into making/finding it.

I would love to go into a convention but with some conventions you're technically on your own most of the time, I've never been to a convention before but if a friend invited me to go I probably will.

I would be so excited to go to a mangacon smile thankfully my school anime club has arranged so, therefore I can looking forward to it. But I don't like cosplaying, but I'll enjoy other ppl's cosplaying.

I read manga, watch a little anime, and the whole hentai shindig. I have gone to a con before, but it wasn't all that grand. I would go again if there was a really big one, possibly with other stuff too.

I don't really care if anyone knows. If they don't ask, I don't tell. Unless it's hentai that's for a select group to know. xD

I dont like anime for one. I go to cons but I would ONLY dress up if I was doing it with a group of people doing the same series. I have a Lucky Star keychain but thats because it serves the purpose of holding all my keys together. If you didnt know me that well you would never guess I read manga eyes

I'm not sure if there's a line.. More like... I don't go around screaming that I like manga.. since some people just might not care about that. Might as well just keep my love to myself and lock it up in a cage. AHAHHA~

I would go to conventions and dress up (if i ever manage to put a costume together x-x). I don't mind having anime/manga accessories (e.g. keychain). I'm completely fine with letting people know even if I have just met them. With that being said, I wouldn't just bring it up out of nowhere. If they asked about my hobbies then I would be completely fine with saying that I love manga and anime. I suppose if I were to really "draw a line" then it would be that I wouldn't go out normally as a cosplay character?

I go to conventions and I'll wear clothing and accessories, but only if they're gifts. I don't go around announcing what I'm into but if someone comes up to me I'd talk about anime and stuff with them. I also never tell anyone my fondness for bl, other than my best friend who doesn't care who knows and will talk about yaoi in class in front of our teachers if I don't stop her. I also don't cosplay.

I feel bad, reading some of the replies, because I do a lot of what the people who post seem to hate. I collect figurines, I think they're beautiful and look nice when put on display (if only I can get my room clean). I wear manga and anime accesories in public, usually t-shirts or whatever, and I put up a bunch of manga and anime posters on my walls. Why? Because it's my room. People who critisize the things I decorate my walls with are not the people that would be invited into my room, my house even.

I'm a vet con go-er, and I've cosplayed at every single one of them. I've worn cosplay in public before (admittedly, it was for a special event, I don't want to get my expensive costumes dirty). I still call one of my friends "Mel-chan", even though that nickname developed years ago and I'm long past that phase.

And yet, I do all all these nerdy things, but when people meet me, no one has beaten me up, I have not been listed as public enemy number one, and I'm very social. I can understand not wanting to wear the shirts or merchandise in public. I don't go announcing that I love anime/manga, but I'm not trying to hide it like it's a disease. Therefore, I don't draw the line anywhere, if it affects me, sure I get annoyed, but it's their choice to do whatever they want in public and face the conseqences, I can't dictate what they do.

(Sorry if I offended anybody, but man I've read threads like these and I feel sorry for the people they target.)
