Our translator on the Hoshi no Furu Machi project is unable to work on Volume 2. The vocabulary is fairly easy, but there are two surprises to HnFM that make it a little unusual to translate:

1. There are no hiragana over the kanji to help with translation.

2. Most of the characters speak in a variant of Kansai-ben, which can sometimes be confusing if you only know book Tokyo-ben Japanese. On the other hand, if you want to expand your knowledge of Japanese as used by real people, this might be the translation opportunity you've been waiting for.

It's a fun and popular manga to work on, we've enjoyed doing volume 1 a lot, and would be grateful for some help with getting the other six volumes out there.

I'll also stir the pot a little and mention that we have another seinen semi-secret project that I would love to get off the ground if a translator can be found.

Hiyoko no GAO is a small group of manga fans who do what we do because it's fun, and because we want to share these manga with a wider audience. Each member generally focuses on one or two projects and assists and proofs on the others as time and interest allow. We focus on doing a good job that we can be proud of, rather than the fastest one.
