I have used all three (Windows, Mac os, Linux) I think all three are good. All the major problems with my computer I have had were because of hardware not my OS, but I thought they were windows so changed to linux, now I think Linux is probably the best choice once you get used to it. biggrin

I used all flavors of windows for like 10years
after that i used dual boot for 2years while learning how to use Linux
now i use Ubuntu (now 4years) as my only OS since it's User Friendly and Debian compatible.
now no errors ,no virus, no trojans, no unknown slowdowns
everything is under control and i'm happy as ever willbe
then only moments when i'm unhappy is when i'm forced to get involved with something M$-products (that brings back horrible memories )

Quote from MasamiAkane
Someone told me the Mac basically stole Linux's design and then "trashed it."
He said it, not me.

i'm a Linux fanatic but i'm sorry there is nothing i found to back that claim
well about the Linux Desktop thing it all started with project "Athena" then it came down to "X" (i'nt talkin about saint-seya or Bt'X) witch was sponsored by DEC and IBM
i don't known anything about Apple benefiting from project Athena or anything X-Window related but it is know that Apple used part of Xerox PARC witch doen't have anything to do with Linux (even if i'm a Linux fanatic )
smile wink grin

I use Mac OS X - Love it.

I like Macs, but I still don't mind Windows. I'm not one of those people that hate Windows just because I've converted to Mac, or vice versa before I started using my Mac.
I've used Windows from its 95 days so I have a soft spot for it, even though it's caused me god knows how many problems over the years.

Windows XP and Windows 7

worst OS ever VISTA i can't believe i bought into that crap. the most unstable and crap inviting OS ever.

and I've used Mac OS X and it's not all that cracked up to be. it is no where near as bad as vista seriously no where near but it isn't as good as windows 7.
then again i doubt there will be anything as bad as Vista. lol

Window VISTA FOREVER!!!! Even Window 7 cannot beat it! eek

Mac is alright too.

But not Linux, No! mad
Bad! user unfriendly Linux!!

if you said windows 7 or Xp i'll be like yay bigrazz but wow just wow this is a very important question. how do you keep Vista from crushing every 5 mins or so.

Not surprised there are still people using Windows XP. Made the switch over to Windows 7 a few years back. Love it. Atleast on my desktop. Mint is my favorite OS for my laptop.

only two more years for xp support. I like win7 for desktop/laptop and android for mobile os. I only use it personally though, not in a networked/corporate environment, so I probably use only 1/5th of its functionality. I'm not digging win8 until every desktop is touchscreen..might get it(for free) if msft does another launch party, otherwise i'll stick to win7.

i hope you linux ppl stopped using ubuntu and the other greedy linux distros after they went (semi) commercial
greed
greed
greed

why not just "pirate" windows like everyone else on internet
only time u should buy a new windows os is when you buy a new computer

windows vista is really awesome and what i use atm
my all time favorite is probably win98 but...it is just so much easier to have a later os and vista fits me really well

Commodore Basic, Commodore Kernal or Windows 3 whichever works. smile
If a more modern OS then it's Windows 7 which I am using these days. Did use Vista but it was too unstable and slow while the new Windows 8 have some serious identity crisis, trying to be both desktop and touchscreen friendly at the same time. And it just ends up being annoying.
Pro tip from a non-pro: Keep them separate. Desktop OS for desktop computers, touchscreen OS for touchscreen devices. Add touchscreen support for the desktop OS but don't make it into a core feature we can't turn off. It's a pain in the ass when a certain mouse movement opens up an app in fullscreen when the actual app only takes up 1/10th of the screen while the rest is white and unused.
