have you ever picked up a completely new manga, without any prior knowledge, and got this instinctive feeling "ah! this manga will make it big!"?
or perhaps you read series like Naruto, Bleach, Ouran Host Club, xxxHoLic and One Piece before it became famous and though "this will become famous?"

when i first read D.Gray-man, Pandora Hearts and The Wallflower i thought they will be really famous. and this was when they first came out and i just randomly picked it up. well. they're not that famous, but a lot of people know it i guess.

I read Savior, Angel Diary and No. 6. although I really liked it, as much as i liked d.gray men and pandora hearts, i didn't think they had what it takes to be popular.

how did your popularity predictions on new series go?

Eh, well, like you, I knew Pandora Hearts would become popular. I mean, it's like a network. A person reads a manga, likes or dislikes it, but either way he/she still shares it with a friend or colleague. Then they share it, etc. Popularity in manga is inevitable. As long as you're influential enough, you can make any manga popular. That's my take on it anyways.

Nu'er Guo Chuanqi: ShengNan Pian I have a really good feeling this will get popular really soon since the art is really unique and beautiful, and the story has a lot of potential for a lot of funny moments, character development and romance. This manga is refreshing somehow and that's always a plus for people who have read too many mangas that have similar plots. So watch out for Nu'er Guo Chuanqi: ShengNan Pian, though I doubt it will become an anime because of the art style and usually mangas are made into anime with the exception of freezing, Digimon Adventure, and a few others.

She says "yada!" but we all know she doesn't mean it.

when i first read The World God Only Knows(yes, i follow it from the start 😎 ), i knew it will be famous 😀
that's pretty much all of my leading-the-trend experience 😐
another thing that i can think of is Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria (Novel)(i was the person who requested to add it to MU database 😀 ). it's a light novel though.

Yeah, I had a feeling Pandora Hearts would get famous. Along with 07 GHOST, which isn't that famous but has lots of loving fans.

I have a feeling Siesta will become famous. I really hope it does xD

Well, not to to brag or anything, but I've read TONS of mangas which became a little bit famous as time went by. Most of 'em aren't made into anime yet, but I bet they will be in a few years. 😀

Those series I can think of now are mostly:

Akuma to Love song
Barajou no kiss
Dengeki Daisy
Nana to Kaoru
Wolf guy - Ookami no Monshou

These are not in order but altogether I think these will make it into most of the world :3 And if they don't, well then it's a pity because these are great mangas!

pretty much many manga that i follow become anime such as twgok, yuru yuri, a channel and onican zenzen sukijanai. also now a lot of light novel i'm following are becoming anime such as suzumiya, boku tomodachi sukunai, fate zero, baka test to syokanju, and maria sama ga miteru.

anyway, i agree with mewman that utsuro no hako will become famous ... but probobly as movies rather than 13 series animation. other than that, new gag harem manga like d-frag and fujimura kun no mates will absolutely become famous. some other prospect for the future are appregio of the blue steel, kimiiro focus, and probobly WA!(kojima akira) and yandere kanojo

Hmm mine would be Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa and St&rs, though they're still only predictions. I have really high hopes for them in shounen category.

At first I predicted Kekkaishi, but it didn't really get to the point of being very popular.

I also want to say Kimi ni Todoke, but for the love of god I can't remember how I came across that series > <

When I first read Ao no exorcist I mostly definitely knew it was going to become big.
