Well, now that that is out of the way... Happy Birthday Mangaupdates! You are three! Unfortunately I don't have anything planned, but as always I'll give you some juicy stats to show our growth over the past year.
So far, we've had 168 million page views since we were founded 3 years ago. Of those, half of those occurred this year alone. This is a testament to the support you have all given us over the years! Thank you all for your continued support.

Long live MU!
I use this in combination with a download site to find new manga to read. So far, it's worked very well.

Ah! That means I'm 5 days late >< Happy Birthday M-U! You've all been so wonderful with keeping a full manga database and providing links all over the place. Not to mention, a great forum.

Aww, nobody near you was nice enough to help you out? Even if no family members decided to buy you a (digital) camera for Christmas or your birthday (you can't be so poor that you can't afford a bit of electricity, otherwise I think you should lock up your computer, the electricity-eater ), aren't you 'famous' enough that if people realize that you're Manick on Manga-Updates that they wouldn't mind going a bit out of their way to maybe take a few pics for you and then send them your way? You did figure out how to get money for going into the con (I totally believe there's an entrance fee with this one), so maybe it's just that the photos have your face in them and that's why you can't share them. I know you decided not share your photo to in the Post Your Picture thread. ;) (Yeah, yeah, I didn't either, and now that people have been thumbnailing their photos, I think I won't look in that thread anymore.)

well i try to keep a lower profile at these things... i'm not out for personal recognition or anything.
as far as money.. i just got a new job so i should be able to afford a camera soon The guys who went with me didn't take any pictures either.. I'm not sure what happened there.. Last year we took tons of pictures though. but yea i probably wouldn't post any with my pictures in them anyway... internet is meant to be anonymous.

You mean Manick being poor isn't a good enough excuse? I guess he wasn't willing to forfeit food (like some hardcore fashion people might for the designer "it" handbag). It's one of those things where Manick and his companions had become maybe like sheep but maybe not enough like sheep to take pictures of everything (with cosplayers there, there totally had to be some people taking photos). I also forgot in my blabbing that if he (or his companions) had a cellphone with a camera, it would have been lower quality (probably) but he could have taken photos with it. But if a person forgets that something's there, the person can't put it use probably.
