"girls like to play healer" thats so wrong

last arena season in WoW our warlock was a female, she was quite good with her in-game depth knowledge, even if her reaction time bit slower.

we played RLS 3v3 arena setup (resto shaman, warlock, and rogue)

I play the healer (resto shaman)

oh well all my chars are healers, in every mmorpgs I always play a healer laugh

I don't really care about gender, but I'm female and I stink at any video games requiring hand-and-eye coordination. I'm only good at simple stuff like Mario Kart, Professor Layton, and Pokemon. x)

Hand me an xbox controller and I'm lost.

Ive meet many female gamer on mmorpg games, RO was the most memorable, our guild has more female players than male that was funny and most of them were playing male char, and the male gamer played girl chars, cross gender role playing rofl.

but in fighting games there are lot less female players, you would notice if you were active in some fighting game communities like Shoryuken, TekkenZaibaitsu, Dustloop.

I have a question for all of you female gamer who likes to play fighting games, do you study the game mechanism starting from basic stuff like hit boxes, frame data, attack range, basic notation, crossup, mixup , tick throw, okizeme, meaty moves, air combo, blockstring ,links.

some game like Guilty Gear AC is really complicated and not newbie friendly at all, its has some depth specific movement like dash cancel->FD, IAD, slashback, RC, FRC, jump cancel, jump install, instant jump, super jump, tk moves (tiger kneed).

or you just play for fun? as for me I get bored quickly if I dont play game at its highest gameplay level, well depending on the game of course, no point getting serious playing virtual tennis or some WII games.

I'm a girl, and have never been stereotyped in-game. Also, I have my preference for types of games so I'm not very experienced in many other areas.

As for assuming other girls to be guys in MMORPGs, I find that somewhat a stereotype -- overall, I think it just depends on the game...

The number of female characters I've encountered that were actually male irl, it's two. The second person caught me quite off guard considering that he was married to another guy in-game (who knew about it already) and I knew them for two or three months... awkward, but they hid it pretty well. Sadly, that was way back in '06, and I'll never know why. >.>;

The only games I played online are Starcraft, Diablo, and Diablo II.

Nowadays, all I play are silly Nintendo and pc games.

Im a guy but the ones who taught me to how to play were my aunts and that was 15 years ago, now they have ther own family and they still kick my ass in most games.
I don't know why they dont like to be healers but I'm always a healer in MMO type games.

another guy who likes to be a healer like me XD

but in my case its because in WoW, to be a decent healer in pvp you need to have above average awareness, timing, and reaction, being the damage dealer is much easier. laugh

actualy I don't think that sex can determine one ability to play...I mean everybody is able to sit and be zombified by a game...

when I play, I tent to take the sex of the character as the sex of the person playing, so here come how I call them He or She.or only HEY YOU!!

and I got a friend, who is a girl, she actualy pay for a laptop to be able to play WoW everywhere, and to be honnest, she is quite powerfull in all game she started...

but I prefer PS3 anyway since I tent to get bored easily...

I'm a girl and I hate playing healer in games its sooooo boring.
But personally i don't really like the scary serious' shooter games because my heart always pumps really fast and its annoying. I've gotten to relatively high levels in mmorpg games but then got bored, so i usually play mario or something fun. I kick butt in super smash brossmile

The gender i tend to take is the one that graphically looks better. biggrin

i'm a female gamer and i haven't had any trouble yet. i play both genders though i prefer the lady versions. i prefer to play fighters, archers, and mages. screw the healers! they can't do squat! a good potion or other item works just as well. my favorite thing to do is level up to the extreme and crush. of course if they piss me off, i'll start off with weak attacks and slam them with my strongest when they'reat their weakest. i don't care if it weakens me as long as i utterly obliterate my enemy. needless to say, i love RPGs.

actually it is, you know why in Starcraft pro gaming scene in Korea there is female league apart from the male one?? its also like that in CS scene.

it wont be fair otherwise, because the best female player cant do anything even against the worst male on the league.

but in rpg/mmorpg it doesn't matter at all, those game aren't designed to be played with skills, unless you are saying time spent+ cash shop = skills.

Starcraft skill isn't based on gender, it's based on nationality.
You're either Korean or you're losing.

False.

Aside from this, I'm not a gamer, so I can't answer the question.

wrong, the reason why Korean are much better because there is serious business behind the scene, all the pro player have contract with decent salary, which allow them to fully dedicated them self to the game.

of course they are so skilled because they train like 12h everyday, its their damn job laugh

same analogy would be a soccer match between Manchester United and a random College team.

but still my point stand, why in korea where the only SC pro gaming league exist there is a separate league for each gender.
