I checked the etymology of my name a few years ago and either it comes from the ancient Germanic name "Athalhaid" (I don't see how though) or from the Greek Αλική (sea creature); curiously enough I have a Germanic last name and on the other side both my grandparents from my father's side had names related to the sea (this must be fate

Later Alice became famous in 19th century thanks to Lewis Carroll's book. It's not a rare name in my country and that's just the standard way it's pronounced in my mother language
