Oooooh... okay... my manga list is rather limited... so I'm just going to tell you what I like that might be a nice change for you. 🤨

Among my high-ranking favorites:
Fruits Basket -- okay, the heroine is too sweet... but I like how each character's backstory is revealed. It's got intimate moments and the healing process is touching... but that's just me. I'm having a hard time finding a shoujo that explored characters like that... (which is why my reading lists are leaning more toward josei recently). And there's only two feminine looking males... *sweatdrop.

Hanatsukihime -- pretty doki doki and it surprisingly made me cry. The summary doesn't do the manga justice. Plus it's only two volumes long, so this is a quicker read.

24 Colors -- oh art students... touching art students who have trouble communicating their thoughts and feelings through words and physical interactions...

How about anime? These are slice-of-life styles where romance and friendship are flushed out... they take their time but since the series is short, there aren't any fillers.

Ristorante Paradiso (11 episodes) -- another MU member suggested this to me (thank you @tartufo if you're reading this forum), and I'm glad I watched it... in fact, I just finished it. It's an adult-oriented anime (like... majority of the characters are past 40 or 50). The manga art looks creepy (not gonna lie... it was a reason why I kept staring at it in the bookstore and was hesitant about opening the volume, but I think I'm going to read it now). The anime production is softer and the people are charming! You see TRUE gentlemen here... *drools.

Honey and Clover (36 episodes total spanning 2 seasons) -- beautiful... simply beautiful. Very nostalgic... oh college... how I miss it... Character growth is explored here... the female characters might be like children at times, but one of them shows her strength and maturity in the second season... My absolute favorite because it hits close to home. And the men... oh the men... my heart cries for them. Plot picks up around episode 3 or 4.

Spice and Wolf (12 episodes + 1 extra for season 1) -- I just finished the first season for this, and I liked it... the focus is not romance unfortunately. But I liked it because of the female lead. She's so coy and wise and childish and sultry... it's like she's a mix of everything which makes her unique. The male lead is a gentleman too... the chemistry is off the charts! The only downside is there's heavy dialogue about economics and trade... but it's worth watching. Technically, she's older than the man... but she appears younger than him (*sweatdrop) -- but don't let that deter you! It's a very strong bond.

Well, I gave it a try. I'd be happy if any of these fit your taste, if not... I wish you good luck in finding more stories to your liking! 😀

Hi all,

Reading Black Bird now... I quite like it, though the bishie is not my type... it reminds me of Vampire Knight (never bothered to read it) or Dengeki Daisy (enjoying it)...

I like bishies like Ren (Strobe Edge) and Watanabe Ayu's male leads... Surprisingly I found Hapi Mari's guy pretty sexy too (though not good looking!) and I don't mind Midnight Secretary (I don't understand why some people consider it bad art... 😲 )

IYou might enjoy Hana no Namae, but I'm not entirely sure. I know I enjoyed it a lot.

Ok, thanks Alaena!!!! I just started Hana no Namae and is loving it! You know, I have come across this so many times and I always thought that it will be very heavy and sad, plus I thought the guy is mean (don't know why I think that now...) 🤨

That's 2 in a row now (the other one is Tora to Ookami and I have all intention to read Cat Street and Kingyo Sou... I might raid your reading list too 😀

Thanks agains!

Aww, I'm truly glad that you're enjoying those! There are so many absolutely wonderful series out there that get no attention. Hana no Namae does have some slightly less than happy parts, but it can be really sweet, as well. I hope you enjoy any others you read, as well! Hehe, I think my only public list is my favorites list, because my reading list is a mess. ^^; I'll keep an eye out for any other series that may meet your interests, though.
