For now: it's phone.

I used to wear analog wristwatch, but since I work in medical field and the need to wash hands + wearing PPE was high couple years ago, I stopped wearing anything on my hand and wrist.
I'd like to wear it again on ocassion now, but I just forgot where I put it (sadddd) so yeah, phone it is.

I'm paranoid of pickpockets so I generally don't take my phone out when outside, and I don't really like wearing wristwatches so I depend on the position of the sun and how warm/hot it is.

At night, I just hope to see a clock.

I said Phone’s preferred, but it’s more like that’s my habit. Preferred would be analogue watch for sure.

Several years ago it would be analog wristwatch, a few years ago it would be smartwatch, now i just use my phone... Got tired of fixing the belts on my watches...

Analog watch because it's easier than having to take out my phone from whatever pocket it's in.

Analogue wristwatch, cos it seems silly to take out my phone and wake up the screen just to check the time. Plus it's not like I have my phone on me all the time.

Some other aspect of nature... usually other people/myself.

I like knowing exactly what time it is so I do check it with whatever I find at hand to confirm, but can usually keep track of time in my head for 1-3 hours if I'm not immersed in something. Even so I prefer other signs that repeat themselves like: a TV/radio program starts or looking at the ending time when you start watching a movie; being hungry or meeting up with someone; the start/ end of an activity; following how far someone has progressed with their routine/shift ...

Usually after a deadline, an irregular schedule or when my sense of time has been crooked for whatever reason I just set a daily alarm or use a wristwatch for a while if I have to go back on routine.

This was a wild moment for me—realizing I was once a "look around and hope to see a clock" person. I let the wind carry me because I could never find my car keys. But now, of course, phone. Only phone. I am phone.

I can think of 2 adaptations that were better than the original: Eureka 7 and Fuuka. The former—anime adaptation—became the basis for the mangaka's sequel and the latter
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
didn't kill off the main romance with a bus
, breaking so many people the mangaka felt bad enough he refused to do it in the anime adaptation.

I wear an analog wristwatch if I'm cosplaying as a man.

Picked "Sundial or position of the sun". It's more intuition based on light levels than conciously looking for the sun or shadows, though. I'll guess the time when I'm indoors and often get it within 20 minutes or so.
But it's never been all that long since I've last seen the time on a digital device/display, anyway, unless I'm making a guess just after waking up. Enviornmental sound factors in too, natural and manmade.

I take forever to do things, run late, etc, but I'm not too bad at telling what the time it is in the moment.

...the sun keeps setting on me when I'm gardening. 🙁

It's 2023 and the only people I see still wearing watches are older than the invention of watches. Obviously I'm using a phone.

Well, not really an anime/manga, but I think LOTR trilogy films are legend. I lost count on how many times I rewatch the trilogy and never get bored of it. I tried to read the novel afterwards, but I find it a bit hard to follow the story since it was very detailed (not that it was bad, but it was difficult for me).

As how I tell the time, mostly my phone (or my laptop/tab if I'm working). But sometimes if I'm too lazy to take my phone from my bag/pocket, I just take a look at the sky from my office. I can tell the sky at 12-14, 15-16 to 17-18. It's enough for me to know "Oh yay, it's time to go home" 😂
