In direct response to favorite fantasy creature, I've made this post. I've noticed a lot of people have said similar things, so now what do you tink is the most cliched fantasy creature?
EDIT: to clear up some ambiguity, I mean cliched as in so over used in media that it is ad naseam.

What do you mean, cliched? Do you mean one that never varies, and usually follows similar archetypes, or what? If so, werewolves really are the only thing that don't change at all. They either have control over themselves when they change, and use that power to their advantage (and are misunderstood by the general public), or don't, and wake up to horrible situations.

No, cliched as in overdone, like over used in media. There are wayy too many vampire media out there, vampire games, vampire movies, vampire animes and mangas, vampire books, vampire tv series, ugh soo many vampires that i really just want to puke

Well, if you want to be technical, dragons would be an obvious choice; I mean, they show up in pretty much every ancient civilization...
I went with unicorns, but vampires ranked really close. But at least vampires can have varied attributes.

I was a little uncertain about the word "clichéd" too... but I took it as the one that's most over-used to the point that it's just silly (even when it means to be serious). I voted Vampire.
Unicorns are silly too, but everyone realizes it (except for the 5 year old girls whose fanciful imaginations haven't been spoiled by the world yet). So I feel like they're beyond cliché or somethin' ...?

Unicorns are seriously lacking in being special. They're kind of just horses that have a nice big horn for killing stuff (yay!). I think that's why no one's impressed.

Oh, I thought you meant cliched as in "same type of characteristics are used all the time." Well, I voted zombie according to my definition since they never differ. Most of the zombie movies have ones that walk, groan, bite, and decay. They're all react according to instincts, but can be put down by guns. There's only like two movies I've seen where the zombies could run.

I would say the most cliched is the vampire and the second in line is the dragon.

Used, over and over again..
Other onces.. not so much..
Zombies..
And my beloved dragons^^- although I do undertand the urge to use them, I myself kinda have a dragon fetish

So sometimes you like to go online and find yourself a nice big load of dragon porn, huh? How cliche.

This is a hard one. I'd say zombies and the names you can substitute with zombie: the flood (halo), those crab thingies from half life 2, ghouls, reavers (firefly series), etc. Vampires would be a close second and in third.

Zombie followed by Vampire.
I chose Zombie because honestly there is not much to work with there. It's dead and rotting. At least with some of the creatures like Dragons you get a variety of representations and types. Zombies are pretty much zombies. Maybe you get one that prefers babies and another that goes after the cheerleader but still there is not a lot of variety in zombie lit. and movies.
