someone else who is interested? o: rather than monster girls it's more furry (as a disclaimer, im not, but the male lead is) because guy rejects succubi and mc for not being monster/furry enough which is stupid because mc is cute 😠 i am petitioning for a new male lead to be the magician at this point.

https://dic.pixiv.net/a/furry

if you read it you'll see that rather than being part of the jingai faction he literally prefers ones that have fur/more animal characteristics (not just animal ears or tail) as you progress through the chapters. from chapter one he says his favorite is wolf girl. one of his lines states that the appeal of that mamono is naturally their "beautiful wild fur"

What is the relevance of that link, and how does the rest of your post contradict what I said?

EDIT: Okay, never mind. According to the "dictionary", "Furry is kemono"; but, in practice, "Furry ISN'T kemono" (The same way that "lolicon"/"shotacon" doesn't equate to "pedophile", even though that's what the dictionary says).

Also, do I need to bring up how the even dictionary says to not use the dictionary as a source to settle discussions, and that it's only purpose is to "interpret" the modern usage of the word (Not if that is what the word ACTUALLY means)?

Kemono is an offshoot of "monstergirls" and has absolutely nothing to do with the furries.

at no point was the distinction between kemono and furry relevant, let me remind you that you were the one who brought it up. in response, i gave you an article that literally defines furry as being the western equivalent for kemono... why do i have to explain this when google translate is accurate enough for translating simple sentences? i'll yield one point though that while they're mostly used interchangeably, there are some foreigners (word used in the article) who find them different and even kemonomimi is regarded as furry in some places outside of japan.

going back to my first post, i only commentated that the male lead was more of a furry than a person of who likes jingai (with 人外萌 being the theme, OP wasn't wrong in translating it accordingly in case you were wondering if i was trying to start an argument with them...). in the first place, my comment was more of a light complaint of the male lead than anything. << this part is important.

as for the second part of my other post it didn't seem like you read the manga to know where i was coming from when i said male lead was more like a furry than someone who liked jingai so i simply provided context... i dont know why i have to explain myself in this way when all i did was make an observation/complaint about the male lead and you could have read the article? saw your edit so you need only read the second and third paragraph of this as well as reread my second post

I posted that in jest.

My second responce was serious, though, in response to your serious post.

Do people seriously think that I'm always looking for a fight?

Yes. The way your word your sentences can appear very opinionated.

As far as kemona (ケモナー) vs furry goes, I would like to inform you that Japanese and English are very different languages with very different cultural backgrounds. You cannot ever truly translate anything between the two languages and expect the translation to contain every meaning and connotation that the original sentence contained.
