Cheating occurs when actions are taken that violate the rules of competition in order to gain an advantage.

Handling the ball is a violation of the rules in football. He used his hand to stop the ball going in the net, gained the advantage as Ghana were denied a goal and a win (pretty much), therefore he was cheating. Doesn't matter whether he was punished or not. The bottom line is he cheated because he violated the rules.

I think this whole situation got out of hand because people were claiming that it wasn't cheating, not because it wasn't against a big team name.

But like Starry said, let it go. Uruguay are through, Ghana are out. There's nothing that can change that.

What Suarez did whether it be cheating or not, I know that I would have done the same thing in that position and so would have probably all the footballers in the past, present and future. You are effectively saving a goal and giving your team a slight chance to suceed. If Ghanains were in that position they would have done it and so would have any player. He might be villain in Ghana but he is the hero in Uruguay and for all the supporters of Uruguay. By the way am not a supporter of Uruguay.

They should let it go but it was definatly atrocious. I'm sorry, but thats what it is. The team that played better football was ghana! Iet it be known...People can share their dissapointment, its humanly to do so. There is no need to hold back opinions, it is football afterall.

If the 10 best referees in the world are based in Europe then they should be reffing the WC the idea that a ref from the Seychelles, Mali, Guatemala has enough high-level experience do deal with the underhanded side of the game is beyond me. All of the teams I wanted to lose have lost so it doesn't matter to me who goes on to win. But if I had to choose I'd want a Spain-Netherlands match in the finals, seeing how both countries have never won a World Cup before.

Call me a pessimist, but I don't think this fairs well for Spain. Paul the Octopus has been dead on in picking Germany's games. He has to be wrong eventually. 🙁 Of course, I'll love it if he's right, but I just can't see him being perfect for the whole World Cup. Well, let's see how this turns out. Germany is playing like the best team in the tournament. Spain will have to do what they've done all tournament, and then some.
