Hi 😳
I would like some recommendations of yaoi with adult couples, or yaoi that isn't about school boys. I am tired of immature pairings. (And reading about boys five years younger than me with better sex lives than I have 😢 )
Please, nothing that contains any sexual assault between the two.

Thank you 🤨

BL related topics have to be posted on the yaoi/yuri section.

And there's a lot of manga for your request. I'll go over my list and edit later 😃

Another nice topic, yay. Although I wonder, why there aren't that many recommendations by now, when there are such great mature stories out in the Yaoi genre. Anyways, here we go ~

Completed ones first:

Arashi no Ato - This one focuses on a couple, in which one is determined to never get serious with a relationship, but then falls for his subordinate, which is actually older and heterosexual. So, they have a tough time ahead.

Generally I like the work of YAMASHITA Tomoko. The sense of humor is great, while the characters are unique and have their quirks, like those in [m]Yes It's Me[/m] or even better those in [m]Kuimonodokoro Akira[/m]. Not only will you get a nicely worked out plot in this, but also interesting drawings.

Taking a look on authors with recommendable material, of course I have to mention SUZUKI Tsuta (e.g. Work In ) and YONEDA Kou (e.g. Doushitemo Furetakunai ). If you look through the authos pages, you will see among there works lots of great stories coming up with adults topics and mature characters.

Dear Green: Hitomi no Ounowa and the sequel Dear Green - Even though you have flashbacks of the teenage time, this storyline is pretty mature and realistic. The characters behaviour seems natural and far away from the author just being focused on physical interactions.

Furueru Te no Saki - Shounen Ai, but strongly focused on the feelings of the characters and pretty realistc.

Ikemen-kun to Saenai-kun - Same here, although you have mystery elements involved, but it's really touching.

Kanashii Doubutsu - In the beginning this may seem like something you might not like, but as the story goes on, the characters become somewhat lethargic, which IMO made them natural and look like the guy next door. Idk, maybe you will give it a try.

Nemureru Mori (TOJITSUKI Hajime) - Just as the descritpion says.

Tsumasaki ni Kourozu - A student and professor realizing their unexpected feelings for each other rather slowly.

Yachin Hanbun no Ibasho desu - Similar here, between coworkers.

Yozora no Sumikko de, - A story about a teacher and a father of one of his students, which was his Senpai in high school and secret crush. This is not your usual 24/7 flow, even though the plot may look like this and full of emotions. Also, amazing artwork.

I'd guess there aren't that many recommendations because there are so many titles, and they're easy to find - Try a search for 'Yaoi' and excluding 'School Life" or 'Manly Gay Couple'. Anyway, I'm just being a spoilsport, and it's always better to have hand-picked recommendations than a bare list, so here's some of my favorites that I think can't miss:

NITTA Youka - almost her titles are about adults, favorites are Haru wo Daite Ita, When a Man Loves a Man, Secret Diplomacy
KODAKA Kazuma - Kizuna, Sex Therapist, most titles. Mezase Hero! is a lot of fun.
YAMANE Ayano - ViewFinder, Crimson Spell, Ikoku Irokoi Romantan - whoops, forgot poster didn't want sexual assault, stick to the last title.

AKIRA Norikazu - most titles, especially yakuza ones
DUO BRAND.
ENJIN Yamimaru - Tengoku e Ikebaii
FUJII Sakuya - Tenshi no Tamagoryouri and sequels
FUJIKAWA Ruri - Ai ni Somare
FUJIYAMA Hyouta, mangaka of Dear Green as mentioned already, esp. Rakka Sokudo
FUWA Shinri - I don't love her art, but her stories feature mostly adult men
HIDAKA Shoko - mangaka of the mentioned Arashi no Ato, one of my favorites. All her stories are good, try Signal (HIDAKA Shoko), and do not miss the perverted dentist story in Shiranai Kao
IKE Reibun - Bi no Isu, Kanga na Spoon
INARIYA Fusanosuke - military yaoi
INOUE Satou - my new favorite mangaka, I love all her work. Kozure Ookami (INOUE Satou), about two straight parents, and a side story "Lala" about two men who go from friends to lovers. 10 Dance is about as manly as you can get.
KAMO Nabako - Aikotoba wa Hallelujah
KAMURO Akira - Ikenai Otoko
MIYAMOTO Kano - one of her best-known stories, Hydra, starts with the protagonists in high school, but the themes are always mature. Try Make Me Happy or Name of Love
MONDEN Akiko - 1-en no Otoko
MOTONI Modoru - Tantei Aoneko, another recent favorite
NAONO Bohra - she does some high school boys, but also adults in the workplace and a lot of fantasy. Her trademark is the oyaji uke. Yume ni Tobu Tori and Yokubou Shounen are good samplers of her work.
NATSUME Isaku - Doushiyoumo Nai Keredo is about salarymen, her other works are also good
OGASAWARA Uki - Nightmare Fortress - Majin no Jousai, a bizare fantasy
SAKIRA - Her works are verging on bara. Try the collection Sailor Danshi or Bousou Kareshi
SAKURAGI Yaya - even her high school boys look like grown men, but try her newer Himegoto Asobi (I haven't read it yet) 😢
SAKURAI Shushushu - I love Ai no Gebokutachi about two single parents, but all her work is good
SHIMOTSUKI Kairi - usually writes about adults, but sometimes her ukes are girly. Try Kimi wo Mukaeni, Madness, or the short Dark Road for something really, um, dark
SUZUKI Tsuta - Hand Which or the already-mentioned Work In
TSURUGI Kai - My Life With You, action
YAMADA Yugi - Writes about students and adults. Dare ga Omae wo Suki dato Itta, the first story, is my absolute favorite of all her work, about a boy who never gives up on his first love.
YONEDA Kou - Her stories of school students are nothing if not adult. As mentioned, all her work is good, but my favorite is her latest, Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai. Or try NightS for something shorter.
