Something like monster, a bit unrealistic drama mystery related and not grossly dark- there can be a concept of evil but no flashy superpowers though something like ES would be lovely. Even Kiseijuu is pretty good.

No harems, virtual bishoujos, otakus related stuff please!!
dont want themes like wine, sports, martial arts....as non-cheesy as possible..
And No High school girls, preferably out of school and non-flashy .....

The only thing I can really recommend for you would be the manga Gunslinger Girl. It's a somewhat realistic seinen manga with a strong plot and not really any flashy powers or stuff to distract you. The girls are young but they don't seem to go to school in the first place. The series has action, but the main focus is definitely on human drama. It's sometimes depressing but I wouldn't call it overly dark.

While this doesn't meet the style of either of the two you mentioned, Emma is a good historical romance that avoids the tired harem high school bimbos meets loser guy format. I highly recommend this series b/c it is very realistic and does not fall to the level of shoujo-style romances of lower social status girl meets rich prince type and everything is ok.

Koi Kaze is a somewhat disturbing tale of taboo love both in age and being siblings. Really well done but the topic can be a put off. Once again no shoujo-style glossover of the incest issue.

Me-Teru no Kimochi is also an interesting manga. It deals with a reclusive guy and the attempts made to bring him out into the world again.

These might not be great choices for you, but someone might like them. 😃

BTW, your examples looked good, so I'm gonna try them. 😀

Historie, mayhaps? Its not exactly mystery, but I get that vibe from it. From the writer of Parasye(Kiseijuu) but unlike parasyte, its in a historical setting with no crazy stuff like aliens.

20th Century Boys - Pretty good. I didn't really like the art, but it was good none the less. I THINK its what you're looking for. I read it about a year ago, though, and don't remember much, so I'm not sure.

I'll try to think of others, but this is all I can get right off the bat.

Hatsukanezumi no Jikan. Sort of an Orwellian mystery/thriller.

I'll second Gunslinger Girl and Historie just because they're great, but I'm not totally sure they're in the same category as what you're asking for.

Maybe Jiraishin, although it's composed mostly of standalone cases.

Actually I have scoured through most works mentioned...

Jiraishin, Emma and 20th century boys (+21st century too) were long done...watched the anime Koi Kaze long ago too so wont be picking that up..

....done with Me-Teru no Kimochi long ago too, was not too bad but come on, I cant take Hen style art seriously, I dislike his art a lot and his reversion to just gross nudity and gore without warning which is why I couldnt stomach Gantz even though I could finish Battle Royale..Oku Hiroya's works' prurience is a huge turn off for me, borders on fan-service for me which isnt what I am looking for..

..had Historie on my list for a long time and just picked it up on this reminder- didnt realize it was by the same author of kiseiju otherwise would have pickd it up earlier- even though I dont like historical stuff..

I had come onto Hatsukanezumi no Jikan about twice before leaving it for some reason so I dont think I will pick it up a third time..dont especially like gun toting teenage girls, its the cheesy image of perverted otakus who want a baby faced younger girl who can kill with firearms- though as the series has come across my path so many times but I will leave gunslinger girl at the last of my final list.. mind you I abhor series like Gun x sword and any ecchi manga... in fact I tried +- ordinary only because I thought there would be adult women..

Not really what you are looking for, but somehow I think the are somehow alike.

Blue Heaven
Tajikarao

Really, I wish you good luck with this search, what you are looking for seems to be scarce.

As a matter of fact, I had picked up tajikarao long before but I am waiting for all the scans to come in before I pick it up again. Will def try out Blue Heaven since I like his Skyhigh series and to some extent Jiraishin

Oh you might be interested in Shimizu Reiko's work too? Like Himitsu and Kaguya Hime

The thing that puts me off Shimizu Reiko's work is one of the very typical nature of most mangas that her works usually embodies, beauty worshiping- the blurring of gender identities at times or even sexual orientation.

The bishie concept though is tempting and entertaining or eye candy, its a turn off in some story plots.

This might be very prejudicial of me, but I believe (just me) its very partial and unprofessional of the author if he or she puts such concepts in their plots which expose their gender. I believe one should write/draw in such a way that I wouldnt be able to guess the sex of the author. Like a heavy ecchi manga gives away a straight male is writing it and usually if guys even in a shounen manga have an almost gay-ish friendship, its definitely written by a straight female. So the story plot is sorta sacrificed for a bit of self indulgence of the author or even a slight fan- service. The reason I like Urasawa Naoki and Souryo Fuyumi mangas is that they are quite objective, even with mature scenes and nudity, you dont get that heavy sexual vibe, it just contributes to the story plot or artistically follows...

endo short stories, maybe? One of the stories is quite amazing.
For drama I'd suggest sahara mizu / yumeka sumomo, but she has schoold girls. Although good stories. (sorry, I'll put her on virtually anything>.&lt 😉
