Good seinen recommendation with plot and not powers

No sports themed manga please, I did put that in th first post. .....never really liked solanin, its pretty depressing .... will try out children of the sea and maybe kiichi!! but ugly art is a huge turn off for me....Thanks
Wow... did you just call Daisuke Igarashi's artwork ugly? >:-(
NOPE!!, was reffering to ARAI Hideki's stuff or rather the rather coarse art (cover page of kiichi!! looks scary)..... someone also mention that his The World is Mine's art was one of the worst he/she encountered- this doesnt make their story quality poor - but many a times, I just quit reading coz teh artwork wasnt to my liking.... for eg I couldnt read many of George asakura's works because of the scribbly art style which isnt so for all her works but its hard to digest for me.... like Shounenshoujo Romance

Aw come on! So many wonderful recommendations (yes Jiraishin, yes Emma, and oh God yes Blood Alone) - but no Eden? No Vagabond? No King of Thorns? For the love of manga, no Ghost In The Shell?
S'rsly. 🙂
Vinland Saga is a wonderful historical manga. Team Medical Dragon - why are medical stories always so well-told? Blame! can turn out to be the strangest thing you've read (it was for me), but just give it a try. Oh, and Kaze no Tani no Nausicaä - I think Miyazaki would have been a better manga artist than anime director, and he's a genius as it is.
And if you ever decide to pay less attention to plot, try Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, which is the best manga ever in my book.
All in all, I agree with tsuto, this kind of manga is a pretty rare bird, at least when it comes to English scanslations, but these could keep you going for a while. 🙂

I second Reset and highly recommend Gokudou Tsubushi. The latter is one of the best seinen titles IMO. I could just love the stylish art alone.
Loved Historie, thats the most suited to me recommendation so far ..Children of the sea was yawnable for me - sorry, I found it too slow progressing..
Blood alone is something I dunno why I dont want to read...didnt like swweeet when I tried it last, some Kotonoha projects spook me...m not really looking for horror so will put dragon head on a waiting list...I keep track of xxxholic though it has staled out, and both liar game(prefer kurosagi) and Mononoke are on my reading list already.
Team medical dragon was so flashy and dramatic that I thought I was reading a martial art series at first..though it sorta calmed down by volume 3 or so..so its cool...Vinland saga is for those who like medieval europe warfare and vikings- nope, have seen enough movies - I prefer the movie the 13th warrior. Very cliched for the first 2 volumes but it gets better after Canute awakens...its a very brawny series imho...
..Please dont recommend very dark stories like Nijigarah Holograph or very realistic seinens like solanin though I am asking for non-flashy stuff..and no themes like martial arts, sports, fighting, swimming, robots, sword fighting, world reformation, war, video games, etc..
..GITS SAC is one of the first anime series that I have watched and I have watched till middle of the 2nd gig and 2 of the 3 movies...dont want to enough more..I have sorta grown out of it.. tried eden didnt like it- there is a surprising discrepancy in the cover art and the art style of the rest of the manga and Gawrsh! there are many english movies with themes like these, how can anyone read further mangas on this? after civilisation is erased stuff?
..tried vagabond, its a good manga but after reading 25+ volumes of just looking for fights and more fighting, I have to draw the line...I have seen the whole Rurouni Kenshin series- its a vicious cycle of "challenge-fight-win/loose-train-find more challengers" - Which is why I ask no theme based mangas .....Duds Hunt I might try but if I am very bored..
checking out reset and astral project now...after that I would try King of thorns..
Thanks all.. 😀

Pff, your loss. You know, there's a lot of great manga out there that are fairly slow-paced, but very rewarding...

I'd give Kiichi a shot if you haven't yet. Its nothing like a World is Mine (I didn't like it either) and the arts much better.
And here are some odd ones to try
The Music of Marie
Japan Tengu Party Illustrated
Secret Comics Japan
Bakune Young
Noramimi

Tajuujinkaku Tantei Psycho- a messed up main character who is a detective with multi-personas
Sanctuary-2 men=politician+yakuza boss working together[described as light and shadow] to get to the top[to be top in the political world as well as the underground world]
Dragon Head-survival in a apocalyptic crisis
All of them are a bit in the psychological category, but I think you might like them.
