Yea...
There's just too many now.
I remember when I could name ALL of them, but now I don't even know a single new pokemon name. XD

Up till 251 it was fine. Cause after that I stopped caring. There's a ridiculous amount now. Kids that try and memorize however many there are should probably learn something more useful.

Don't you mean "only 151 pokémon" ? >_>
Anyways, like roadblock4, I believe it was great up til 251.
Can you imagine if they remade the "pokémon rap" with all the names they got now? The song would last half an hour...

"Who thought pokemon was better when there was still only 150 pokemon."

hm..I'm prolly one of those fans who actually liked Poke'mon untill the Ruby/Sapphire generation.

I'm not following the anime but I'm a big fan of the Pokemon Adventure manga which is based on the game.

pokemon blue/red was an amazing game and gold/silver was a perfect followup since it fixed the problems wiht blue/red and added new content, basically improving it all around.
Then ruby/sapphire came, and even though they added a bunch of new features (like contests) most of them were junk; to top it off they got rid of half of the old pokemon. I gave up on the series after that point

I guess I would say that the direction Pokemon is heading is toward a competitive nature instead of just to please your daily need of anime. I like everything right now because now I don't see people using the same old pokemon to go against each other.

I agee with the majority here that while the firs151 were my favorites, I was ok with the gold/silver games and the added pokemon when I saw the new character designs for the games after those two and how many there new ones there were; I lost interest and stopped playing.

I think it was a good thing they have increased the pokemon count..now people can have a lot of choices as to build their team...and with the inclusion of Ev's and Iv's the game has become a lot deeper too

but i dont give a damn about the anime and manga....i stopped watching after the first 100 eps or so

Uh. I think EV's and IV's were in pokemon from the start.

Loved Gold and silver, after that it just became random animal becoming pokémon. Story kind of got worse also...

I didn't mind second generation.

It was the 3rd generation where I was pretty much like wtf? I was out of it for years until I got my hands on emerald.

I don't even know 1/3 of the 4th generation. I know like, the 3 starters and a couple of other random ones 🤣

But the original 150 were the best, and always will be the best.
