Hai ( awakward me here) 😎

Needless to say, I'm and avid BL reader. Recently, however, practically every BL I read has little to no plot. Anybody else feel like dat?

Anyhow, I'm looking for a relatively long BL series with good plot but at the same time few, but intense smut scenes. Like, i'd prefer smut not to the the most overpowering portion of the story, BUT the smut scenes that DO occur should be pretttty intense ehehehe...... (believe me, I love myself some good Bl smut)

~ I'd prefer if there was a significant amount of sexual tension ( like maybe they were rivals who eventually turned lovers or something like dat)

~Also, i'd prefer if the uke wasn't really, really, cringily girly ( u know what i mean)

~ i'm a real fan of the school rivals turned lovers cliche ( either it be one is popular or both are popular)

~ the yakuza and journalist storyline is pretty good too ( or just a journalism/ media theme is fine too )

~ pls a longish manga; maybe 10 chapters and over.

In the end, just a longish yaoi with good plot and few(ish), INTENSE smut scenes.

( even if the manga doesn't exactly have "few" smut scenes, as long as it isn't random sex, then its ok )

Something like Blue Sky Complex. I also recommend Smells Like Green Spirit , not smutty or anything, but a BL I have come to enjoy.

You should really look to older works for this kind of thing. BL nowadays is a bit... Meh, imo. They have zero plot, for the most part.

Koimonogatari (TAGURA Tohru) I just read all that is available, and there's is virtually no smut (yet), but it is heavy on plot, though.
Sakura Gari from what I remember, this one is really smutty and plot centric.

Tantei Aoneko - there is not another manga like it. You will either love it or go "wtf?"
Yuuutsu na Asa - beautiful historical with a twisty complex plot
Takaguchi Satosumi knows what she's doing. I didn't love Sakende Yaruze!, but Shibuya de Aimashou and Shijin wa Ichinichi ni Shite Narazu are not to be missed. Sakende Yaruze! is 5 volumes, the rest are 1 volume.
Sakura Gari is a rough go but you should read it anyway, by Watase Yuu, the author of Fushigi Yuugi
Koori no Mamono no Monogatari and Silver Diamond. Really long, mostly plot, shounen-ai. I haven't finished either yet, but I don't suppose they go beyond subtext.
Check out some of YOSHINAGA Fumi if you haven't already. Not all are BL, but most have BL subplots at least.

Genwaku no Kodou has an intricate plot and the romance is a bit slow but it's intense. The artwork might take a bit getting used to though. It also says it's horror but it's not scary at all.
