that mangascan of yours is really cute. (i like the shadows of the red.)
as for me, I think i have okay PS skills.
I can color, and edit manga scans. (i'm an editor.)
I can just say, better than mediocre, but I can't brag about my skills at all.

On photoshop yeah. I used paint shop pro to paint before, but that was like, basic block anime colouring XD
Bear in mind I used a tablet. I nicked it off my sister i've tried with the mouse and I get hand cramps. Plus my mouse is supposed to be for left handed people, and i'm right handed, so it's awkward XD (my dad stupidly bought it without realising )

I have no photoshop skills... I want to learn though~
*sigh*
And I both admire and envy those who can.

My profession demands it (photographer/artist/retoucher), so yes, I'm pretty well versed in photoshop. Just how good compared to others, I can't really tell, but Adobe sends me free copies of CS every time they release it. =D
I don't use it to color manga scans or anything like that, though. It's mostly used for retouching, artificial lighting effects, image leveling, color calculations, designing, batch processing (with Adobe Lightroom) and printing.
I also don't think Photoshop is all that great. It's too bloated and it's user interface has always been a bit idiotic, in my humble opinion.
I do use it a lot for my work, but there are many other programs out there that I rate higher.
CinePaint is probably the most powerful image editing program I've ever used, but it can be pretty intimidating for Photoshop people and you'll have to compile and modulate it yourself (the source code is free, though). Results are amazing when it comes to retouching digital photos or movie frames.
When it comes to actual painting and illustrations, Corel Painter X is head and shoulders above Photoshop (especially with regards to tablet pen sensitivity).
There's Xara, which handles interpolation much better/faster than photoshop.
There's also another program I use (and help develop), but I'll keep that one a secret... wouldn't wanna create competition for myself during tough economic times.
I will admit that Photoshop (Adobe Illustrator as well) handles color management and printing better than other programs, but that's mostly due to the support it gets from printer and color calibration manufacturers.

I effing suck at anything to do with digital art.
I only got photoshop last month, and it's number 6, so I'm old school at the mo XD
I used to use Paint Shop Pro when I didn't have photoshop. (I still use it now a little)
i'll show you my first attempt at photoshop with the picture from one of the freezing scans I downloaded. I don't want to mess around with lineart at the mo, just practice colouring. I think i'm gonna give up tho. It's time consuming and i'm not very good
here it is

So much better then my stuff .-.;;; I have no idea how you

the burn tool and dodge tools.

I filled it in with the basic colour first. Then I used the airbrush for the lighter and darker tones. Every tone I use, I make a new layer.
The airbrush is what makes it look soft. I've never experimented with the burn and dodge tool...i need to play around with it some more

My job requires me to have some degree of skills in Photoshop (is a graphic/web designer). My skills are decent and since I'm a cleaner/editor for some scanlation groups, having skills in Photoshop is pretty crucial. It's a pain, but I do it.
But there are better programs out there. I just use Photoshop as a back up.

Well, I play around a bit with Photoshop. Since I draw quite a bit I think it's nice to edit them in PS afterwards. I've tried Corel and PsP but for me Photoshop is the best so far.
I've got a long way to go before being really good at it but I'm working on it.
Here's an attempt at colouring (quite basic since I actually just wanted to try some stuff out).Takashi from Tokyo Savage
And here's my original artworks:

Well if you would all like I can
try to make a tutorial. The best
I can do is manga scan coloring.
Don't ask for cell shading because
I have no freaking idea how to do that.
The form of shading I do has no name....
at least I don't think so.

Would be awesome, I was interested how that works for a while!

Yeah sorry it took so freaking long to make
a tutorial. It's just part of one. It's only on
coloring the skin but to be honest it's pretty much
the same method for everything else but I'll probably
go about making a tutorial for the hair and clothes as
well. For now here's this though. Again sorry it took
so long. Sorry if it sucks, I've never been that great
when it comes to making tutorials.
