If you don't mind fantasy, have you tried the moonlight that surrounds me? It's the sequel to please save my earth, and features the same main characters who are married and have a child. Don't know whether it is exactly what your looking for because because of the sci-fi/ fantasy elements, but hope it's a little helpful,
