From the mangas I've read so far, I'd lay my vote on Berserk, Blade of the Immortal and Vagabond.
Apart from the "content", the volume/chapter cover art for BotI is so beautiful imo smile And with Berserk... Miura just never dissapoints me, both story- and artwise.

When I look at my list now, it does truly look as if I'm some "sword-art-freak", but eh, that's just coincidence, all three works above are just beauutiful artwise ;D

I especially like the art from Star Ocean Blue Sphere (Mizuki Aoi) and the Korean manhwa artist, Lee Young You (maker of K2 Kill Me Kiss Me, Moon Boy, and other series).

Love Hina? Well drawn? none

Well, to each his own I guess...

Berserk by Miura Kentaro gets my vote.

Let me quote myself concerning anything Akamatsu Ken draws.

That woman makes the most interesting clothing for her characters. Especially in Paradise Kiss and it's prequel.

fuk ya'll couches.

guy who drew priest is pwn.

oh ya.
guy who drew vulgar ghost daydream is pretty awesome too. then too berserk. for sheer detail, berserk wins against all mangas.

so much detail .-.

but since almost all arguments are made from opinions, but my opinions being fact, not mere opinion...

mangas like love-hina are not art. manga in general is not art.
love-hina looks like the most generic sh~t in the world. its just fun to read since most guys think it'd be fun to be in that kind of situation.

only kind of manga i thought was "art" was:
alichino
vulgar ghost daydream
berserk

that's about it. not in my opinion. my opinions = fact.

and in art, nobody likes generic run of the mill things that dont stand out.
and most manga = run of the mill generic things that dont stand out.

If you think only those three are art then you haven't read Battle Royale.

lol forgot about that one.
yeah i think that's pretty good.

ALSO forgot to say

most manga art and detail pales in comparison to alot of marvel comics lol... believe it or not.

bet the people who draw marvel comics could draw better manga than mangakas.

dead serious.

Manga capitolizes on the ability of new material to quickly be delivered to readers. You're never going to see Marvel artists produce a chapter a week. American comics just can't keep up with sheer volume of material produced, and therefore has trouble keeping readers interested.

yeah, I agree on this fact that "Priest" has a very artistic style. one of the best manhawa I have seen so far and the art is really dragging you along with itself into the depths of the story, so beautiful and kind of magnificent.

about comparing between manga and comics, I think generally comics are not that amazing from story plots, we can see more different kind of stories and back grounds, hero's and character building in manga genres, but however at the end I have to say that if any one asks me to choose between comics and manga as the better one, I wont do it since these two media's are both wonderful and amazing, and I consider both of them ART. cool

Is this on the premise of what?

Personal favorite - Jiraishin / Matsumoto Jiro's works
Realistic - Wolf and Spice / Hotel Habour View / That annoying one shot (setting in an Italian city with the girl being a detective or some other police work)
