From the "main" cast, I think I would say Ishida.
Sure he gets some screen time, but I honestly thought at the begining that he would be Ichigo's main rival (arch-rival, Bleach's Sasuke, etc.).
He totally owned Kurotsuchi, and then he sort of fell off the scale.
I get the feeling he might get his comeback, since both Ichigo and Ishida's dads seemed like they were rivals at one point.
And for any character at all, I would say Yamamoto's leutenant. I like how he has a scrap of a Captain's cloth to signify some sort of authority. He got beat by one hit from Ichigo though, so....

*sigh*
There are pretty many underrated Chars... Hard to find -the- most underrated.
1. Inoue Orihime: Maybe it's getting better now with her even interfering with Ulquiorra. I hope, she kicks his Fraccion's ass and finally gets over her insecurity that is the only thing blocking her true potential.
2. Kira Izuru: God, I loved him in chapter 323. His Zanpakutou has an ability that is made for pure ownage but he almost never gets a chance to show off.
Because of that I liked the recent fillers revolving around him (although other than that they sucked as usually)
3. Kurosaki Isshin: Have to agree with him. We know way too little about him. But his time will come, I'm sure of that.
(I'm wondering why he and his secret weren't already shown during Turn back the Pendulum, but i'm pretty sure that he is the Kenpachi and Captain of 11th Squad of that time)
I'm really looking forward to him joining the battle.
4. Tessai: He seems pretty weak considering his former rank.

You make a good point about Orihime, she really does have more potential than pretty much any other character in the series, considering her powers basically rip apart the laws of the universe (you know, space, time, physics...little stuff )
I'm pretty sure she hasn't made a hole in anyone yet, but there was one point where she was having an internal monologue about how if she stayed with Aizen, then she could reject the HÅgyoku into non-existence. So, she has thought of that, but I personally don't think she'll ever use that aspect in combat, given her nature. hmmm... Or, she might use it in combat (like, to save Ichigo being utterly destroyed by Ulquiorra or something) and then goes catatonic, and becomes a tragic-hero-figure. I really see the potential in her powers for all sorts of Dues Ex Machina moments (like, maybe, Kubo Tite ends the series by having her reject the existence of evil or something )

Orihime's powers have more potential than anyone else apart from maybe Aizen; if she used her healing powers in reverse she could make holes in people with very little effort (which Im sure I remember her doing in the manga, but never happened in the anime so I might've just been drunk or reading a bad scan), let alone the possibility of completely retconning the story by rejecting the existence of anything she wants. Unfortunately she's too rubbish/unconfident to figure this out for herself, but in recent chapters you never know...

Hahaha, me too.
Thinking about it though, I had a thought...big final battle, Aizen is royally thrashing everyone b/c they're all subject to him illusions (though maybe that's when the Vizards and/or Ishin show up?) and she rejects either Aizen's existence (would be kinda a lame imo) or maybe she just rejects his Zanpaktou's power? Really just speculation, but it is interesting how stupidly powerful she could be, once you start thinking about it.

I agree about Orihime, her powers would do so much better in the hands of someone more ruthless and confident. On her their just a waste, which is part of why she irritates me so much. Also I think the Vizard should get more credit considering how much they could kick practically everyone else's (bar a few exceptions) ass with little effort. Ichigo's dad, what the Hell ever happened to him. Just when he came out as some ex-kick-ass captain he disappears from the story! WTF!?

what if ichigo's dad was the real bad guy and giving orders to aizen? we currently have no idea why he is not is soul society. i would love kubo tite so much more. this series needs some fucking plot twists.

That would be nice and Urahara know his father maybe he is an evil guy too?

Nah, Urahara is so not evil xD
Everyone would hate Kubo Tite if he suddenly turned out to be a bad guy

urahara could be good, thats ok. but it would be such a wtf moment of realization. the story is getting too boring and needs some form of ridiculousness to continue being readable.
You obviously have seen too much Code Geass R2 which mainly consisted out of ridiculous plot twists. They don't make a story, they break it. I want sensible plot development in my manga, please.
(As sensible a Shounen like Bleach can be.)

jeez, kinda unnecessary. but youre right, i like things that are full of plot twists.
btw, code geass is the best anime. period.

Haha, don't worry. I might've sounded a bit harsh, but no offense meant. I just want some mainstream Shounen to take the lead and make some real plot developments for once. Maybe others will follow along, then.
