My suggestion...
Do you ever stay up all night long, doing whatever?
1. Yep. Reading manga. Time goes by so quickly, and the next day I'm not really sorry, though I don't feel well.
2. Nope. I always get a solid eight hours.
3. Yes, but sometimes I wonder what I was thinking later.
4. I usually wake up during the night, so it's hard to say how many hours I sleep.
5. I have insomnia, so I often stay up way late.
6. My work requires an odd schedule.
7. No, I am a morning person and love to see the dawn sky and singing birds.
8. Yes, I am an evening person and love to see the dawn sky and singing birds.
9. As long as I get enough sleep, it matters not what time. Cat naps rule.
10. I love to watch the stars.
11. I love to watch the sun.
Well, it's just a suggestion. I love polls. You can just tell me about your nights here, too...

I realised that the Japanese animation/manga/light novel story is really quite tightly bound together. So I was thinking, what was everyone's take on one thing based on another? Is it fine for you to read/watch something you have already seen? Do you prefer original manga/anime to stuff based on something else which was original first, or are you strictly an 'original work' fan? Or are both a-okay? Personally, I prefer original stuff, since the orignal form is usually the best representation, but what are everyone's views on this?

That's a great suggestion. I swear the current poll was up once before, but maybe I'm hallucinating. Lots of good new suggestions here. "In what form do you read manga' was good too." Online and book-form here. "Should the anime follow the manga" was good. Yes it should, here. "Have you cooked something out of a manga" was fascinating. I try, here. But maybe it's all, all been done... I have a poll fetish, so I care enthusiastically about this matter.
Maybe, "do you think there is a future for American produced manga" would a good question? (And can you even call it 'American manga'...) My answer, Canadian yes, but American, I really don't know... Cable and Deadpool are great, but considered mere comic books. Comics lack the real world vision and the vast imaginative possiblities of manga, I think.

as a kind of follow up to this weeks poll i thought that something like "how do you feel about Fillers in your Anime."
i think the majority would be against fillers but i wouldnt mind hearing the other side (i mean there has to be someone who doesnt hate fillers right?). i really dont know what to put for the answers but they would be some what similar to the current poll

Here's one I thought of. Of course, the question and answer can be changed.
Does it bother you when foreign movie companies(United States being the main one) remake anime/manga into live-action/animated films? --> Think of the recent movie "Priest", and the possible USA remake of "Akira"...
- Yes! They ruin the plot/series!
- Yes, I don't like how they choose actors/actresses.
- No, I enjoy the different view shown by the film.
- No, I just want to see my favorite series on the big screen!
- I don't really care/ No preference.

how about ..
how much does identifiying with the main characters influence what you read?
i only read manga with people exactly like me in
i often read manga with people abit like me in them
i read manga with mix of charater types some like me, some not
i like reading about people completly un-like myself
it dosent affect my choice
or you could have the same question with situations instead of characters.
or
how much does cliche put u off reading a manga?
not at all - i love it
abit but ill chance it
completly - i try to read only original situations
dont mind either way.
are you embarased by the nerdy image that reading manga in public brings?
not at all

im a secret manga reader
do you chat to other people browsing the manga/anime sections the same time as you?
yes they obviously share an intrest of mine
depends of gender
depends on age
no they might be buying for a freind or relative
no im not intrested

Do you think violence in manga is too brutal?
- Yes.
- Occasionally.
- No.
- Brutal is OK within reason.

Once upon a time, we had polls for the best seinen/josei/shounen/shoujo (vote for the top 5!)
How about making a poll for best manga released in 2010? or best anime released in spring 2011?
we can vote for top 5 titles to get the best of the best,,, something like that
or we, once again, held polls for the best seinen/josei/shounen/shoujo...in 2010, 2011, ...
MU's versions of the best manga of the year ...and so on.
