I stopped reading both skip beat and wallflower for the same reasons although skip beat was actually deccent the wallflower covers up the lack of actual development with its humour and as much as I do love and respect it if nothing happens in the next chapter I think I'll never bother reading it again. As for skip beat I think I stopped and forgot what chapter I was on but as nothings happened I doubt I'll pick it up till it finishes.I gave up hanakimi a looonnnnggg time ago and went for the drama options the same with hana yori which was wonderful!

I still have hope for nobu and hachi but after chapter 77 it appears ai yazawa is taking another break just when things got interesting! I vowed that if nana doesn't finish this year I'll stop reading it, the wait is always to long and the chapters have been a little well disappointing!

I can confirm that nothing is really going on with Skip Beat right now. A drawn out birthday party and Kyoko focusing on her acting. Bejesus, when I read some of the recent stuff, it makes me want to pull my hair out! I swear if we get some rushed ending like TCP then I swear I will learn Japanese just so that I can write a scathing letter to the mangaka.

Hana Kimi was nice, but the ending totally wasn't worth it considering the investment and time you put into reading the whole thing.

Wait, where did you read that Ai Yazawa was taking another break? HE double hockeysticks if its true. I love NANA so I know I'll continue to follow it regardless of how long it takes, but why another hiatus? There was that long 5 month wait and than that 2 month wait and now another one? I know I don't want it to end soon, but I find the breaks kind of ridiculous especially since we've had so many in the past year.

I do think that the chapters have really started to pick up with the exception of the last one. The Takumi/Reira thing and finally getting into the present have been some pretty good stuff. I just think we should get back to focusing on the main characters with less focus on Yuri, Miu, the paparazzi, and Nana's family.

I thought of another one, La Corda D'Oro. Freakin' a, will she please decide to like someone or at least acknowledge that she might have some feelings for some of the bishies?

ahh well I'm not missing much then with skip beat.
Yeah it was on a live journal which gave spoilers on chapter 77 but I don't think its completely confirmed yet. I think the main chapter I'm thinking of is chapter 76 as chapter 75 made it seem as though a big development was going to happen and then with chapter 76 it was just a chapter about nobu and yuri and I don't really care much for yuri. I agree that its the breaks that make nana really drag and to have another break with chapter 77s big cliff hanger would be realllyyy annoying, if its true its probably a break due to maybe lengthening the series or that Ai yazawa needs yet another break...
I probably try and stop reading nana but start suffering from withdrawl and go back to reading it 😀

yeah, skipbeat's getting totally frickin' boring. but being the freak i am, i will probably continue faithfully downloading each new chapter. i've invested too much time and effort downloading and reading this series to stop now, dammit!

nodame and chiaki are killing me too. they're adults living together in a foreign land! how can they not have even reached second base?!!

What's to say they haven't? I figure the mangaka just hasn't bothered drawing anything explicit 'cause it's never really fit, but I'd be a bit surprised if they've really not gone past kissing. (They've also been dating for a year or two already.)

feel like editing in light of recent chapter:

which had the classic post-sex morning of guy on edge of bed putting on shirt and girl wrapped up in blanket. If that's not evidence that they're having sex, (and the build up's not of the first time variety), not sure what is.

Ah, thanks for the heads-up. I've only read as far as Chapter 60 and got sort of bored. I thought I would pick it up later, but if there's not anything past kissing 120+ chapters into it, then I'm not going to invest too much time into it.

EDIT: Seems I was a little misinformed, I didn't see story's post.

Shin and Yankumi from Gokusen

Or is it because he's still in high school, so romance has to wait? Well, not really waiting for a kiss, but poor Shin... I like reading about boys tormented by the ones they like though~ XDDD

Urr, I know what you mean, I get alot of that thinking to, my first impression on Special A started off well, until I got past alot of volumes...I was waiting for more romance to form between Kei and Hikari! >_< I dropped that manga ages ago.
Also, BXB Brothers, omg I really wanted Kuremura and Sono to get together, but it's just not working out...I'm hopeing by the 10th volume they would have done at least something?!
Skip Beat is also like this..so I also stopped reading because there was no romance developing between Kyoko or Ren what-so-ever, though Ren likes her. I makes me well aggitated.
Other mangas such as Cat Street, Ouran High school host Club, Sprout and The Wallflower too << but they are really obvious in other peoples perspectives too.

Sugar Family: Nothing's happened yet, it's stuck in a sibling-complex.
Kisu Yori mo Hayaku: Kazuma is sort of willing to kiss Fumino, but she is quite hesitant.
Himegimi no Tsukurikata: It's in a similar state as Sugar Family, a family-complex.
Ghost Only: Waiting for something to happen between Ren and Ema... they're both human so it's a good thing. The only romance that has happened so far is the romance between their customers and other people.
Koibana! Koiseyo Hanabi: Both leads are sort of antis of the opposite sex. I'm positive they like eachother, but they don't show it.
Switch (shoujo): Although this series has been completed in status and translation, there was hardly any physical contact between the couple.

But there was a page in the the very last chapter, the translator left a note in an empty space on a page with Kei and Hirota kissing or hugging in a class room above the note.

MAX Lovely!: The leads, Airi and Taki, are still friends, and nothings happened yet. I'm rooting for the Airi and Taki pairing, and also the Nako and Hikaru pairing.
Deep Love Virus: Mako and Shun didn't have a chance to kiss in the end. Yes, and this is completed in status and translation.

Pick it up again. Recent scans have progress, and a serious case of pair everyone up syndrome.

Ouran High school host Club, Sprout and The Wallflower too << but they are really obvious in other peoples perspectives too. [/quote]
Ouran's starting to get progress 'cause it's in it's last arc (seems to be at least) but is mostly suffering from being a monthly release so the progress seems slower than it actually is.

Just gonna second (or third, or whatever) what lots of other people already said: Skip Beat, The Wallflower (<-- kinda giving up on this one) and Ouran High School Host Club.

One that is complete but that I had to wait the longest for a kiss? Ranma 1/2. Still waiting, in fact. 😉

[I know it's not technically a shoujo but... c'mon, people!! You almost got freaking married!!!]

Kimi ni Todoke

I've been following the raws on that one and

we're already up to chapter 36 (7th/8th volume) or something like that and still no confession from Kazehaya or Sawako, much less realisation that they like one another. It might not be as bad as Skip Beat, the manga revolves mostly around school life and high school romances and only has about 5 or 6 characters -.- I liked this manga at the beginning but it's getting quite tedious reading chapter after chapter where the characters are continually in denial about how they could be capable of harbouring romantic feelings for another.
