Sorry for the long title, but that's pretty much it, something where the Protagonist has some sort of power/ability/demon inside him/or is an ex delinquent or something. Anything where the story revolves around someone just trying to fit in despite some sort of secret. Alternatively, something where the protagonist is dragged into things like fights because people assume he's violent and it affects how people at school see him.

Also, I don't mind Shoujo depending on the story, something like Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, or D.A. Angel (think thats the title) I don't mind, just nothing shoujo where the romance dominates the story.

So far I've read:
Midori no Hibi (sort of fits, since he doesn't want to fight or anything and though it's not a power he has to hide Midori while living a normal life.

Go! Tenba Cheerleaders: trying to get away from his delinquent past

I know there are more I've just read so many I can't remember.

Kimagure Orange Road... I know I jsut posted this seconds ago but figured it'd definitely get mentioned soon.

and Ao no Exorcist.

Hiding:
Mx0
Karin
Elfen Lied
ES
Ookami to Koushinryou sorta.

Delinquent/look
Angel Densetsu
Toradora! sorta, not so important for the development of the story.

If you're going for something like Midori no Hibi I'd suggest you Karin, Mx0 and Toradora! (even if it's not exactly what you asked for).

read Mx0, kind of the opposite of what I'm looking for though. Karin, and Wolf & Spice as well.

ES and Elfen Lied are a bit to heavy for me, I prefer lighter sries, though I'm not against drama, things like Elfen lied where things turn very dark I odn't really get into.

ES, I don't like the whole huge part the sci-fi element plays later.

Angel Densetsu & Toradora, don't fit, they're not hiding anything, people just misunderstand them, I'm looking for something where the MC is deliberately trying to hide their weirdness which often results in ridiculous (or dramatic) misunderstandings, not where the character themselves are just misunderstood in general.

Thanks though.

I should note that I'd prefer school life types, but it's not necessary.

yankee-kun to megane-chan The female main character is an ex-delinquent who became the class rep in highschool and is trying to give up delinquency. Its very funny.

obaka-chan, koigatariki I haven't read the whole thing, But its a shoujo "delinquent trying to be cute girl" manga.

oresama Teacher The leader of all delinquents in her old highschool gets busted by the cops and has to transfer schools. She uses this opportunity to try and become a "Normal highschool girl". Its style is a blur between shoujo and shounen, very funny.

while I'm at it, SHOOT the guy who suggested kimagure orange road 🤣

Don't read it. I did, Waste of time. Its a 13? volume long episodical gag manga that has a love triangle which spans most of it.

Edit: oh, btw a bunch of gender bender mangas have crossdressers trying to hide their real gender for various reasons. You could look them up.

Psycho Staff, I think it was?

The lead girl has to blackmail the protagonist into doing anything with his abilities.

Read Yankee-kun, and I put down kimagure orange road as one of the things I've already read, nobody suggested it... But I half agree, I was disapointed, for the length of it I was hoping for a big reveal, decision, and coming to terms with what he was part of the story, instead the powers take a back seat and it is dominated by the triangle.

I may or may not look into the others, like I said I'm not really into shoujo as I don't like the unrealistic romances.

Psycho Staff doesn't really focus much on him hiding it, but I still really liked it, thanks for that. But it does make me wonder, for such a common theme like ESPers why are there no long shounen school life manga about one. I mean it seems like one of those perfect plots. I'm excluding Kimagure Orange Road because the ESP took such a backseat in the story.

mekakushi no kuni its about a couple of characters and how they deal with their powers (the main girl can sometimes see the future of a person she touches and the main guy can see a person's past).

Oh and about kimagure orange road, its not that the esp was left out or anything, it was just used as a gimmick for gags and stuff. Which is a shame, cause the premise of it was pretty good. If it was just a manga about a family with an esper that are in hiding it'd have been loads better.

There's a shoujo where the main character has to hide his special ability and try to fit in: Natsume Yuujinchou. And it has no romance.

Maria Holic - Main girl has to hide that she's a lesbian, and the main guy has to hide that he's male.

If you are OK with gender bender where the main character's secret is his/her real sex, Prunus Girl, Nicoichi and Mizuho Ambivalent should fit. Most of them are school life.

I'm not really into gender bender stuff at the moment.

Natsume Yuujinchou, I can't see how hiding the powers would be difficult in this story, but if I'm wrong at it does play a major part of the story let me know.

I didn't like Bloody Monday, too dark.

I loved xxxHolic at first, but when it got too heavily intertwined with reservoir chronicles I sort of lost interest. I liked it when he just seemed to be a normal guy with a weird power dragged into weird situations, I also liked the fact that it was one of the few horror/supernatural manga where people aren't always dying.

Before anyone mentions it I also read Nurarihyon no Mago, and love it, I wish there were more series like this, though it's getting more into the action side of things now, and less about him hiding his identity.

Thanks for the replies.

Also, I don't mind hidden relationships stuff either, just no shoujo, anything like UnbalanceXUnbalance, Onidere, or Onegai Sensei is good.

Dude I read this title and thought of Flame of Recca not only is it exactly how you describe it. It has like 36 volumes of action pack stuff. it a great read

Tell me if you like it also I like stories like this so i have more if you need but since this title is pretty long i just let you finish this on first

From Far Away Fits the hiding aspect/demon inside, if you don't mind lots of fluffy/light conquers all stuff.

I don't see it in Flames of Recca. I've read it already, They barely spent any of the story in school, and it focused almost entirely on action. I mean it's a great series, one of few long series I read all the way through, but I just don't see how it fits. At what point was Recca hiding his abilities a major part of the story.

Far Far Away fits, but isn't really my thing, I prefer modern school life (I think I said that somewhere, don't remember) and the whole fantasy world thing I just can't get that into, at least not in shoujo, I like fantasy where the main male character is secretly a monster (either literally or figuratively), but I can't imagine a shoujo having that same effect, as my favorite part is always the reveal, I love when someone finds out what the MC really is.
