hmmm... so im looking for a manga with a guy and a girl who I would describe as having a 'comfortable relationship'. My definition of a 'comfortable' pair would be a relationship between a girl and guy who are completely themselves around each other with none of the usual angsty stuff going on between them (i.e. holding eye contact, jealousy, blushing etc etc). Im not necessarily looking for the main pair to have a romantic relationship either, it could be a completely platonic friendship. In fact, thats probably better than a romantic relationship, but basically what Im looking for is a pair who are completely at ease with each other, can confide in each other, yell, scream, laugh, cry.... that sort of thing.

hope that makes sense, but just to give you a few examples that ive read, perfect girl evolution - the main pair are quite capable of being themselves around each other. Another such a pair is Ichigo and Rukia in Bleach(ok, I know people want a romantic pairing with this one, but that aspect is kinda not what I like about the relationship between these two).
Any and all suggestions welcome, thanks. 🙂

Akkan Baby, perhaps.

If you're interested in anime, Lamune immediately came to mind. The main pair is practically married from the beginning, without there being any explicit romance between them for most the anime.

um, you could try excel, there's some VERY rare moments of romantic longing, but it's unrequited and the girl tends to give up on it straight away because he's dating her sister. And they don't end up getting together.

five has a semi-romance going on between the 2 main characters, but it's more of a side plot and in between they're pretty normal with each other.

oresama teacher no real blushing relationships as yet, but it hasn't finished so i can't be sure.

WAAH! 🤢 sorry, i'm trying to help you out, but comfortable relationships between guys and girls tend to be very rare. Or initially they're comfortable, being childhood friends or something, but then they suddenly become aware of each other. Manga tends to love romance between childhood friends, you know that whole tied by the red string of fate. In fact in most shoujo's where the charcters meet later in life, they'll still try and stick in some kind of childhood romance that one or both of them has forgotten about. 🙄

Hanatsuki Hime - the story is all about romance, but the main pair seem very natural one around the other, you won't see the girl or guy trying to prove their love. anyway it's a pretty good story with beautiful art;

Help!! - this one might suit your taiste, since the story is about how the character first meet and their personal lives, not the romance between them. well they still get together;

Hellsing - you could try some seinen, in this one the relationship between Alucard, Ceras and Integra are interesting, but have nothing to do with romance;

Akagami no Shirayukihime - very platonic relationship between the main pair. It does get romantic later on, but the two are still very comfortable around each other.

Akaku Saku Koe - the girl is in love with the guy since the beginning of the story, but there's no angsty stuff (no rival/jealousy/etc)

Sora Log - a bit of jealousy, but not the intense kind.

Gonna revive this topic because I just really love this type of relationship~

Seifuku no Vampiress Lord Hope you don't mind Shoujo-Ai, but main character and male lead are great. 😀 They also live together!

Beelzebub Oga and Hilda becomes this. Even though they're "married", they're not really romantic.

Ballroom e Youkoso Some of the dance partners are this. Examples are Shizuku and Kiyoharu.
