I like realistic mangas, because most fantasys are a bit... Hardto concentrate on, butevery nowand then they're okay. Now the problem aboutthe fantasy genre is that it's hard to find an original one, cause most of them a cliche. But when they're original, you can enjoy it... The same with realistic shoujo mangas.

I like fluffy, candy-sweet romances, not the the drama that I see at school, so I'll go with fantasy. (I don't mind some drama, but when it reaches the level of Nana, it's annoying.)

Largely depends on my mood. Sometimes I want to escape my life and others' lives... so I'd say fantasy then. The romance that doesn't really exist x-x If I want to have a good read that's sort of relate-able and I can feel in common with the characters... then realistic. Totally depends on the mood for me. I tend to read more realistic recently.

I have experienced reality enough.....I really don't want to read anymore stories that resemble daily life.
I enjoy those perfect shoujo manga fantasies where basically every problem is solved and that whenever the main girl is in danger, her "prince" pops out of nowhere and uses his high level fighting skills to save her.
Reading these fantasies...though some are quite repetitive and cheesy...lightens my mood and helps me foret about whatever else is happening out there

i dont mind fluffy or darker romances as long as they're realistic with realistic problems and not filled with annoying cliches. if the characters are in high school and spouting lines like "i'll love you forever" or some nonsense like that, i'll drop it immediately. teens dont have the confidence to say those kinds of things unless they've been watching too many chick flicks.
i might give some leeway if it's in a different setting though, like a medieval setting or something like that. romeo x juliet is a good example of an epic fantasy romance done well in an older setting.

I usually go with realism, specifically high school setting since I can relate. I usually dislike fantasy settings, but a plot mixed with fantasy elements in a high school setting is something that I'm interested.

Aye , its like that for me too.
Also for romance I tend to prefer realism, Fantasy Romance tends to be made overly epic.

...it really depends on what type of romance the story is? `-`? In any case, I like romances where it's believable, but this doesn't mean it doesn't exist in fantasy-themed or not quite set in the real world stuff. I really don't want something where the guy tells the girl he loves her, she instantly swoons into his arms, and then they end up having sex right there. That's not realistic.

I like both mixed in together but I lean more towards realism. I can't take fantasy crap seriously because the characters that go along with it and their actions will also be unbelievable. I like that a story that could happen in real life and hate idealistic things that could happen in manga like "happy endings." Sure that could happen in real life but rarely. On the other hand I don't want a manga that is so realistic it's boring or really sad that it could make you suicidal... Yeah, I'm picky...

Eh... whatever is good. I guess. There are a lot of both that I like. I don't judge it based on its genre.

Depends on the mood. It changes frequently. One minute I prefer realism. Next, I prefer fantasy. But who doesn't like a bit of both?

Realistic love!
Its MUCH easier to relate to.
Then again fantasy every now and then is refreshing and fun to read. Break away for a while.
But if I had to choose, realistic romance, hands down.
