I've searched around this forum, and I found a couple stuff that fits what I'm looking for, but not exactly.

I'm looking for a strong independent woman/teen that stars in a romance manga, but she should be one thats opposite from most of the stereotypical shonen women (shy, low voice, perhaps boring). The thing here is that if I could avoid it, no shojo. Maybe a little ecchi or a comedy as well?

Some examples of the personality I'm looking for would be

Sawachika from School Rumble
Naru from Love Hina
Suzuka from Suzuka (lol)

Thanks in advance.

a romance manga that's not shoujo? interesting. that probably doesn't happen often. when i first saw the title, i was thinking (very randomly) Shuurei from Saiunkoku Monogatari. ... but that's probably defined as a shoujo manga.

anyways, good luck with that!

Thanks for the recommendations. Chainsaw and superior sound real good.

Lol yeah I'm almost asking for the impossible. Well I've tried a couple shojo mangas, but nothing ever really stuck. The only one that kinda did was vampire knight. It got boring after a while though.

If there were some must read shojos fitting the descriptions I listed, which ones would they be? Or just must read romantic shojos in general. I could just be judging a book by its cover here.

Sekirei is a good one, but it might be a little to ecchi for you

If you're open to josei, try Nodame Cantabile. The heroine is not a tsundere, but she's never boring either. And the series itself is hilarious (although I recommend watching the anime or the j-drama first because the manga art is kind of sketchy for the first few volumes).

Quote from Sagaris

tokyo crazy paradise is good

Seconding this, buuuut it's a shojo. As for ecchis, only thing I can think of is Toloveru but it's plot is rather slow... And finally Ice Revolution which is a sports shonen with a girl as the lead~ Hope I was some help xD
