I choose geass, even if its random, as every skill revolves around mind ability(mind control, stopping people senses, controlling there body, having everyone like you..except for mind reading..dont like it) its still much useful than DN. If its the same as lelouch, you could go so far as world domination(mind controlling every country leaders as a servant) and just appear as a normal but very charismatic person. as for DN the best you could be is to be a name.

I adore Kira nd L but Lelouch is just too awesome to beat. O.O Hes like both Kira n L combined. Code Geass is one of animes that got me all emotional and I just wanted more. But I gotta say I love the use of the death note..killing ppl without touching them and it comes with a cool shinigami is my dream! biggrin well not really but it's still made the anime. (:

Oh and this is QFT:
Quote from x0mbiec0rp
Honestly, I'd never be able to figure out something useful to do with a death note. I've never felt the need to kill anyone. Mind control can always come in handy, even if I'd feel guilty overusing it.

Code Geass, but I don't consider it to be a shounen or seinen. They're somewhat similar, but Code Geass is a more mature form of it. The characters, the story, everything is better. Light is just too pathetic of a "genius" villain. He's not actually that smart. He can't even figure out how to kill L himself, he has to get someone else to do it for him.

the NOTEBOOK, for the Geass you can only use it once on a person, not too useful,
but you can use the deathnote to make someone do something also right?
the notebook also has more functions to it too.

Code Geass powers because using that power doesn't necessarily mean that someone has to die. You can just make money by commanding someone to transfer all their money into your bank account or something

Ummm... We are actually NOT comparing the mangas, we are comparing the powers in the mangas =.=

Zero is the smartest and somewhat the most noble protagonist in all anime/manga. The reason why is because his plan on Zero Requiem actually succeed even though there was a lot of problems during his attempt to achieve it. Also he sacrificed himself so that the world will never fight again. Unlike Light who is purely evil with no sense of heart goes crazy after being caught red handed. He lost his cool and turned mental which totally caused me to hate him. Also Zero's power is absolute and there are no hard core proof to prove the power. Unlike the notebook which is rather inconvenient to bring around.

Geass.

You "could" have the power to kill without the consequence of not being able to go to Heaven or Hell.

Definitely Geass.

Well, I've never read/watched DN besides the live-actions (which, my friends told me, didn't compare to the actual manga/anime), so my vote goes for Geass. I have to say though, I was somewhat disappointed in the second season.

Both Code Geass and Death Note we're absolutely amazing plot wise and character wise, but I watched Death Note before Code Geass so I'll have to go with that.
I found that Death Note was somehow more original than Code Geass, I wonder why I think that though, but still both great.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
I would of liked if L hadn't died, because he was such a great character. So many of my friends stopped watching Death Note because he died.
It would of been good if they had introduced Mello and Near without L having to die, but still L dieing adds more tragedy to it and makes it seem more memorable of a manga/anime imo.

Death note all the way. I like Geass too bcoz of it's war strategy and mecha but death note has "realistic" feel to it.

Though i don't really like chapters after L died, pretty much raw cat and dog chased afterwards and repeated trick(using third party to write death note). And the end is pretty much predictable since it is shounen, bad guy always dies/loses.

Code Geass is just mecha, romance and some manipulation. To outshine opponent in battle using mind and trickery isn't the main goal in Code Geass. It will always come down to better robot-power.

A little bit off-topic, i wish the author stopped writing Bakuman and back to writing dark manga.
