Short series. Long series often start to drag, besides, I like complete stories, and long series are usually either old or ongoing, though there are some pleasant exceptions. So: 2-10 volumes.
I still read oneshots, though, I like being able to finish a manga in one sitti...

Leaning towards fantasy. Realism in manga often produces characters and relationships that seem too down to earth for my tastes, and their romance lacks a certain high tension and dramatic zeal.

Ah but there is a difference between a girly looking boy and a somewhat feminine pretty boy aka bishounen. ^__^ It relies heavily on taste, of course, but in my opinion the example would be something like this:
