Did they die and it was just showing what have would been? Or was it just him having a dream? If it was a dream, when he goes up to the roof, was she about to jump? I thought she was over it after falling for him. I thought he was her reason to live now.
The ending left more questions than answers for me.

My main issue with this manga was that it felt too short. It essentially went directly to the conclusion after the climax - could have definitely had another arc there. Other then that it was interesting and I appreciate the time I spent on it. As long as you dismiss the quality (art, characters, story, pacing, etc.) of the piece to be non-essential to your enjoyment and understanding of the message you will have a great time. Also, it reads pretty fast so if you have time to kill I'd try this.
There are several reasons I'm disappointed with this manga. I don't really mind the sloppy art but the character's actions just don't make sense half the time. It's like there following a predefined roadmap just in order to have a plot. There were also times I felt like it should on conveyed more emotion, but didn't.

im already at ch 28 but my patience run short. i waited and waited, i really try to believe in this - but this really really suck. the no 1 complaint i have is the weirdest pacing i had ever read - there is no flow from one panel to the next, the characters look stiff as one panel jump to another. the atmosphere cannot be conveyed properly - i know the mangaka try to show things like 'love' or 'hatred' or 'sadness' but either through the expressions or the screen tone or the shading or perspective or whatever - they all fell short and that just make me more impatient. the art is not pretty, it is not truly horrendous - but ugly art is ok as long as emotions and feelings of the characters can be felt by the readers, and the mangaka cannot do that. this saddens me greatly, as such a promising idea is handled inexpertly like that. i hope the mangaka can redo this manga when he have more experience.

I honestly wonder if Mangabox picks short series on purpose. Hatsukoi Shinjuu had tons of promise, and could probably loop through a few more of the "save other people" stories while simultaneously developing the leads, and it would be great. The ending was near-perfect, but at the same time, it felt rushed and the characters feel underdeveloped. Kudos to the author for making the most out of an ending to an axed series.
