First off, the mangaka draws some strange looking pecs and abs, which, in a boxing manga, is almost a SIN. Also, some of his faces are too samey. With that being said, he has some great spreads, and overall his art can convey impact, shock and surprise very well, which is crucial in depicting martial arts. I like Riku and his insecurity, his personality mixes well with more lively characters like Mihara and Seiji, but I can't stand any of the female characters in this series, they felt like 'props' or more like a 'spice' used to 'spice up' the lives of the male characters, they had no agency and felt pointless, with the exception of Seiji's big sister which serves to partially ground his character in reality and has some character of her own, even if her place in the story is solely due to his existence. The ending felt appropiate and convincing, however, despite portraying disturbing, emotional, and 'heavy' scenes, this series never manages to grab you, a moment never jumps out at you and touches your heart. Or at least, it didn't touch my heart, I simply thought "damn..." and that's it.

Underrated manga. I haven't read it in a while due to nobody releasing any scans of it, so I don't remember all the details. But what I do remember is that is was an enjoyable read. The plot is fairly simple. The MC upbringing is a tragic one and for what ever reason he wants to learn how to box(I won't get into the reason primarily because I forgot lol). I liked the MC even though he barely said a word, but he doesn't get phased at all when people talk ill of him. He lives in his own world and doesn't care about anything that does not relate to boxing.
The last thing ill say about this is if you only enjoy light hearted manga then this isn't for you. But if you can read a boxing manga with some tragedy and graphic material at times then this is right up your alley.
