Comment posted after reading chapter 14.

I love the fact that UnE got a sequel. And to be honest, I really like it. I like Shun's family, I like how Shun and Mio's relationship is going, I like how realistically portrayed most of the things are in this manga, I definitely like Sakurako more than I did in UnE, but...
But.
I think this sequel is worse than prequel. Why? For many reasons actually...
- Shun lost in my eyes, he changed a lot, and I don't like these changes, especially in volume 4
- I disliked how sex scenes were portrayed
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Shun was basically telling Mio that their sex is bad all the time, but when Mio was trying to understand it and fix him, Shun was just shutting him out by "you don't understand"; how could he demand sex being good while he was not telling his partner what is wrong? that's what irritates me the most, especially because Mio was trying a lot and Shun was doing nothing to help him

- after all this drama from UnE, Shun's family situation looked not as serious as we thought it is
- I was feeling as if Mio was the only one trying in this relationship and I didn't like it, relationship means an effort from two people, not only one
But even with all these things, I sill recommend it to all people who have read Umibe no Étranger. Harukaze is actually really good when it comes to portraying being adult, with all this struggling and problems.

What I really love about this series is that for a BL it isn't focused on sex. It's character driven, psychological and a slice of life for young adults. Beautiful and expressive art as well!

Now that the relationship drama is over it became a much more pleasant read. The author also got to expand on other more interesting things. Lots of development around Shun which was very nice.
