Good art, disappointing plot.

It really is a shame that the plot had to have the cliché "nice guy turns out to be a would-be rapist so that the overprotective seme can comfort the naive uke" inciting incident. I was drawn in by the art, which, although not amazing, is enjoyable to look at. The plot was thin from the beginning and the characters seemed like nothing special, but yeah, once that subplot kicks in (in the same first chapter, nonetheless), it just soured the whole thing for me. I could've maybe looked past it if the rest was interesting, but everyone is so bland and predictable that I didn't care what happened to them.

It's just so chock full of clichés: the obsessive, overprotective seme going after the naive, doe-eyed uke; the uke who feels guilty for almost being raped and who thinks that the seme was just being friendly when he had sex with him; the rich asshole seme who literally stalks the uke "for his protection", and the uke who doesn't see anything wrong with that; the "I won't have sex with you anymore for your sake, but I won't say why, so you'll angst forever about it". Wow, this manga really does have everything bland, eh?

I ended up reading the entire thing because it was short, but I wouldn't say it was worth it.

Weak and problematic plot

"Klutz are easy prey even family members should get their hand on it" gets old as a plot.
I'm surprised because while it was a common portrayal of gay relationship in the early 2000s (childlike, klutz, needs to depend on others uke + manipulative predator seme) this is from 2016!

im rereading this again, and i can say i love it.. even so Mon-chan is obsessive but thats for Nao too.. like Nao often get himself into a pervert man and because of that Mon-chan become worrywart and that become a habit.. but i love it.. its good and the story is easy reading 💕

This manga makes me angry. It fills me with rage, and a deep sadness. I was absolutely overjoyed, and sold on giving this a ten, when sexual harassment/assault was called out for what it is, and the harasser was punished. However, literally 10 pages in and wham! Mon-chan quite consciously does the exact thing that he stopped earlier.
Maybe in the past I would have found this relatively cute, you know being possessive to an abnormal degree, but now it’s just, wtf? Furthermore, the story is all over the place. There is no narrative consistency. Extremely shallow characters and world building. And, nothing, not a single thing, is ever brought to a proper conclusion, with so many dialogues and feelings just left there hanging, unresolved and unaddressed. In many ways, this is worse than Harakuro Shiro to Nora no Kuro because at least over there the characters weren’t so shallow, and the narration wasn’t all over the place. At the end of Osananajimi wa Boku no Hero! I do not like any of the characters not because I disagree with them on some political, philosophical, level, but because I have zero knowledge about any of them, except that
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Mon-chan is a highly accomplished sexual predator and Nao is an air-headed kultz

The art is okayish, even though the cover is quite nicely/provocatively done.
