Description
Ryota plays it cool around all of his classmates, especially when it comes to girls. But he’s always the one on the spot in a perverted situation. In some of these many random anecdotes about the lives of fifth graders you'll find: peeping at collarbones, eating chalk, accidental skirt flipping, missing bloomers (you know, those girls' gym shorts things), and many others. Who says grade school can't have a high-school-type love story?

I would've liked more of this tbh, but then again, what would be the aim of the story?
Very funny, nice art and hilarious faces xD
Reccomended.

I have mixed feelings about this one. It was pretty cute, the art is quite nice, but... it just seemed like there was something missing. Like a kind of long-winded joke that seemed like it was going to be great, but the speaker started to lose his voice and it dwindled down to silence before you got to hear the punchline. That's how it felt after reading it, anyway. Something just wasn't right about the storytelling. I guess the biggest problem with it is that I could tell it was supposed to be funny, but it just kind of wasn't. Was I too tired when I read it? Did I read it too fast? I don't know, it's possible... maybe I should read it over, but what I do know is I never laughed during the whole thing, nor did I come close to laughing, and I don't recall any moments where I was even particularly amused, either... and that's generally a bad sign. Something about it was just so... ordinary. It must have been the storytelling, since the things that happened definitely weren't ordinary.
Well, I don't want to make it sound like it was terrible; it really isn't that bad. It's just that cuteness and good art gets my hopes up, and it was okay, but nothing special, that's all. Kind of disappointing, but aside from that, reading it was a relatively enjoyable way to pass the time. I think it's the kind of thing you'd like to bring along when you're going to be waiting around, something lightly entertaining to occupy your time, with nice pictures to look at.

I can't really explain it, but if you read it, you understand why I think so! I also wish it was longer, maybe a sequel to this when they actually are in high school. I definitely recommend this series, it has a lot of humor and has amazing art! XD No moment was the slightest bit boring!

It's very hilarious one. They managed to give the punchline at the right time, not to mention how they can draw the expression so good, that you can't help to laugh even louder. Although I'd prefer the ova (not the one by xebec), I still laugh each chapter, especially the collarbone. It's a shame that it's so short.
Anyway, it's a manga that you've gotta to read, as I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Just finished this up, and I felt it was good, if not great. As I said in the header, it's one of the few instances where I prefer the anime over the manga version.
I thought the artwork was acceptable, if not exceptional (with the caveat being I found a couple of the girls hard to tell apart), and the short chapters really meant the pace never died down. I think the main problem I had with it was with the exception of Ryota, and one or two of the girls, we never really got much insight into the characters. Most of them could be easily swapped for one another, and not enough time is spent to really differentiate them. This is one of those times where a second volume's worth of material, spent on fleshing out the remaining cast, would have really benefited the reader and made the manga a much better experience overall.
I think this is why I prefer the anime; not only are there additional chapters not found in the manga, but the voice actors can really help lend individuality to the various characters who would otherwise be lost in the background.
Still, overall it's an enjoyable manga for the short time it should take you to read it. It's a quick, but fairly enjoyable ride that could have been a lot better had more time been spent on the "secondary" characters.

In the mood for feeling awkward as you watch fifth-graders discover sexuality? That about sums up this title -- it's innocent fun, and has hilarious comedy, but they're FIFTH-GRADERS, for crying out loud! Luckily, the kids act and talk well beyond their portrayed age, but don't be surprised when you see fifth-grader pantsu in your ecchi comedy/romance. This doesn't feel like a loli manga or anything, so if that's not your thing, you probably won't be bothered.
Great artwork, dialogue and compound-episodic story flow. I couldn't stop and read it all in one sitting.
Also, the OAV anime was a great adaptation, and I'm looking forward to the forthcoming televised anime.

This manga's great for those in-between moments between epics. I mean -- usually I'm reading stuff like Vagabond or Claymore, so I need a bit of lightening up from time to time. Today in Class 5-2 is just what the doctor ordered. The manga is basically made up of small, inter-connecting stories that are like little anecdotes of school life. They're cute and wry and funny, without ever being melodramatic or tiresome. Very nice. Not a great intellectual or artistic masterpiece, by any means, but very good in its own way.
Need more!!!
