It's not easy being good at everything. but who would have thought, it's saving a big punch for later. And that big punch made me come here and put a comment; "Awesome manga!"
-- This manga started by establishing the demons as characters. From the one who is ridiculously talented, the one who is ridiculously strong, the one who has willpower as humongous as Seattle, etc etc. But in the middle, you started to be presented by another sheer demons, made you think that the demons at the beginning are not really demons, but just little imps playing strong. But who knows, toward the end of currently scanlated chapter, that new understanding once again rebuked. They are really demons! The author really know how to put the context. And I can only say, "Omg, this is so cool!"

Like some have said, it isn't overtly realistic in some instances, but overall is an enjoyable and original story.
The main appeal is the protagonist who is well, completely different from other standard female characters: she's aloof and kinda an asshole, but is also rather observant and cool headed. Some parts hint to an accident happened in the past, which may or not may have caused her behavior. Quite frankly if she does a 180 and changes halfway through the manga it would suck, but the author is slowly offering more angles to her personality that make her more well rounded and believable.
The cast isn't very diversified but it's beautiful to see so many goal driven and indipendent women who still manage to be relatable
And thank God, the female fighters look like actual sportswomen instead of pin-ups!

Fun lighthearted manga, want more.

One of my all time favorites, If only there were more chapters released.
seroganes comments regarding the female lead are spot on,
A very refreshing character that girl, so rare that I really can't get enough.
Tall, calculating, condescending and she knows it, but doesn't care. As far as japanese manga go I have yet to encounter a lead with the same traits presented so well.
As for the Story, it follows some tried-and-true formulas, but that is really not a bad thing. It is really the characters and their development which offer a fair share of amusement every so often. I presume I'll get a bit dishertened over time reading this, be it due to the author loosing his vision or stalling or any other reason you can think of, but until then, I'll wholeheartedly recommend this manga to anyone, especially if you are looking for a Protagonist enjoying being a ever so slight sadist. Very rare in a world filled of heroes too unrealistically good natured to be true.
But I'm not going to learn japanese to continue reading it, well not yet at least...

you rushed to say these things
I think a sadist girl with loose screws is a change and there are people who like these persons as opposed to normal goody heroes
and shes not superspecial if you bothered to read to chap12 you'd know that she only managed to beat her school classmates because of difference of hight and weigh and not the pro thick eyebrow nor the brazillian girl (she picks fights she can wine)
and she can't even beat her gym partner so i guess it's pretty realistic (she has no superpowers like you make it sounds)

i love mma and i love manga so this couldn't get any better for me. It's probably the only manga that's solely about girls who compete in mma so it makes this manga very unique. The manga is not released often but luckily every chapter is around 50 pages so it's still awesome.
Splendid...

It's just the beginning from the manga therefore the artwork will change a wee bit but it's already almost perfect (From my point of view). The story is superb with a unlikely heroine (I haven't read a manga with such a girl as the heroine). I could recommand it to everybody with a leaning to seinen.

If she needs special-ness to do mma, why is she so good at karate? That's unrealistic, it just seems imbalanced. Why did she feel the need to quit her club, what was the real difference? she could have done Kickboxing if she wanted more competition though I doubt that she nationally had it easy.
The main character a bitch but she's not sympathetic. You can have fun at things even when it comes easy.
Also it's a cop out to do it, did they think the audience wouldn't believe the story of a more regular girl getting into martial arts. It's not just here, usually the girls need some convoluted reason for being ultra special in these types of mangas. As oppose to discovery they have talent and learn skill.
also some of it obviously unrealistic, a former pro, less than a year, losing to a girl half his size, that was never a pro... just insanity, and no one is ever more conditioned after retiring than when they are pro. And guess what, even the manga thought so, It back pedals and says it was a stunt.
Still, I guess there aren't many MMA manga yet, especially ones that aren't completely ugly and compared to those, this is more normal, the people are more normal. But like I mentioned, for some reason martial arts girl manga can't be about anyone that isn't already "super" and knowlegeable, and the character acts like a douche even when she doesn't have to. It's not like she's total evil or cartoonish but as a person and character, she's a dick. Now the manga has to start to ignore the way they set her up since it was too unlikable, so they back pedal with her characterization a bit, and randomly added a back story thread apparently because they realize she had flimsy reasons to want to combat and simply saying she enjoyed it wasn't good enough. Still that makes the manga easier to take.
I'm going to add why having such a super special character ruins a realistic story. For one thing, MMA, combat sports in general just don't have a good pay out compare to other sports. Choosing this instead of any other sport that she's so super special in is really ridiculous, not to mention the sciences since she's such a super perfect at everything girl. Second, it sorta spoils the story. A sports story is to find out if a person has what it takes, we're told from the beginning she's special and has what it takes IN EVERYTHING. That she learns so fast she can master anything. MMA isn't special, she just lacks wrestling knowledge. Which she can pick up in an instant since she's so damn specially gifted.
This just probably doesn't match the story, it just has little realism unless her specialness was just physical, in which case, it still spoils the story by telling us that as a fact from the beginning.

Its still early as only 10 chapters have been scanned as I type this. However, it is pretty darn good so far. Main character is unique (not typical) for all the reasons others have stated in previous reviews. She can be a bit of a bully, but is also sympathetic (without resorting to cuteness) which is not necessarily an easy thing to pull off. Also having done martial arts myself I can see some of the research is pretty well done, especially with some of the drawings of positions and techniques.
I find the art to be solid and for the most part pleasant. I think that if the mangaka can keep up this level of quality in both art and storytelling than they will have a definite hit on their hands. I hope this manga gets more attention and gets translated more.

This manga is kind of unique and yet mainstream, thus I'd bet very successful and entertaining.
We have a heroine with an interesting character setup: Not cute and kind of arrogant and proud, but she isn't really a show off or braggart either. She's a real asshole, but she's honest. And stands to her opinions. I don't think she'd force them on others, but she won't ever let herself be forced to accept others'. Quite the offensive and to an extend merciless girl, but still dependable. Somebody you'd trust if you made friends with her, but at the same time aren't terribly likely to make friends with.
I really like how this manga manages to make her moe without being cute. (moe as in endearing, but not endearing as in 'omgbbcute') I won't mention any more about her, cause you'll find it in the manga.
Art is nice, not the best, but definitely good.
Concept and detail are superb, too! MMA is done realistically (grammar? ) and even took in the aspect of it being really, really fun to practice.
This manga finally brings some fresh breeze into the mainstreams!

At first i was skepitical of the story of girls mma. I was thinking of some mediocre manga and a mangaka that would show us superficial and unrealistic fights after fights.
I was totally wrong for several reasons
1) this manga builds on the well done research of the mangaka and his team(?).
2) the aspect of "having fun" that the two girls who came from brasil have. Training mma is such a great fun. I know the feeling of having fun doing this sport personally. So thats the greatest achivement of this manga in my opinion.
3) the fighting progression is realistic as seen in the main leads sparring with the other girl where she looses utterly bc mma isnt a sport where you can just come and beat anyone who has experience even if your naturally talented in sports like the female lead.
4) the fights itself are also mostly (not all aspects like the step ins, or breaking the ribs incident ...but mostly) realistic and even get inside infos of mma moves (--> well researched after all).
Its a good manga. Maybe the best on mma (there arent that many anways).
