Description
Mukojima Takuro is a lonely teenager who spends his time fishing at the pier and, to his incredible surprise, fishes up Muromi, a mermaid. Muromi first off doesn’t realize she's a mermaid until she meets Takuro. Not only that, she is incredibly dense and crazy and has a drinking problem to top it off. Now every time Takuro goes fishing, Muromi appears and makes life interesting for him.

There's a mermaid who keeps hanging around a boy who's only interested in fishing (from a pier). He pays no attention to her either as a female or as a mystical creature. She doesn't give up though, but keeps trying to tell him interesting stuff about her life in the sea, her friends in the sea, and her looong personal history. Generally, she's a very whacky creature, and looks the part too. Hilarity ensues!
This works great because the mangaka has a great sense of humor. It's that simple.
Oh, and it's in active scanlation again and there are 12 instalments outstanding as of July 2017.
Update: It's 2021 and I find that it's back and making progress, thanks to Nekomancer! I thought I'd lost Muromi-san's lovely antics forever.
