I know nothing about Katekyo but this is a pretty darn good AU story that doesn't require any KHR knowledge. The translations of both versions are pretty lacking,albeit sometimes in different places, so reading both is of benefit for the understanding of the story.
Still you can grasp the brilliance of the setting and feel Yoneda Kou's charm on every page.

It´s a short story, it supposes to be a KHR doujinshi but you can read even if you (like me) knows nothing about the KHR universe because the story speaks of itself. It´s a simple but powerful love story with a great drawing, simply beautiful with one of the most erotic scenes I ever saw in a yaoi manga not because of the nature of the scene (nudity or so) but because the way the scene was drawn. Definitely a must read.

You don't need to know anything about KHR in order to enjoy this DJ. It is set in alternate universe and not much character background is needed. The art was great as expected from Yoneda Kou. The story was good too but it felt a bit jumpy in places.
Overall, I give it an 7.5/10!

The drawings are great and entertaining enough but the story skips twice a lot of a plot that I thought I missed pages. But I want to know how it got to those points too. Those jumps/skips were awful. Out of one scene right into another one that I didn't see coming. And I don't mean that positively.
Because of that it didn't have any depth for me, neither the story nor the characters. I can in general gasp what it was about but it's boring when it's not properly shown/fleshed out.

An 8.5 for the drawings, a 2 for the plot and a 4 for the characters.
