and i imagine the low rating came from somebody expecting it to be. this is "bara", written (usually) by men for gay men, and it's distinctly different from yaoi. the men featured are "bears"; big, heavily muscled, hairy men; a far cry from yaoi's bishounen and goo-goo-eyed uke. and the storylines are not as esoterically and implausibly romantic as much yaoi.

this may not be your cup of tea as regards erotica (it isn't mine), but the art is good, and it's interestingly different. i'm not going to rate it until i've seen more (2 chapters only so far). one thing i definitely like is the variety of different characters; yaoi character design sometimes suffers greatly from the demand that all its characters be oh-so-beautiful.

anyway, like the person above me said this isnt yaoi. it's bara and all about muscle men. its not really aimed at the yaoi women crowd. i personally didnt like a single story because of that.

i would ONLY recommend reading if you're into muscle men or if you're just curious like me. your curiosity would be satisfied and i guarantee you wont need to read another bara tale, unless thats your thing. content wise the stories werent that involved. basically just little one shots that use the same characters. the art is good in the sense that it's clear and sharp, but it doesnt really seem like manga as much as a comic.

i'm not really into musclebears but this is a very nice gay manga....the way it should be actually

the art does not remind me of a manga....it reminds me more of french comic books for some reason...very nice artwork btw...the poses and the depiction of muscles is spot-on and flawless...so sexy! i'm sure the mangaka had plenty of photo reference to use for his drawings..lol

it is a collection of one-shots...there is some sexual tension in the 3 chapters I've read but that doesn't mean there is graphic sex or sex in every chapter really..there is a range of emotions and it's not only sex sex sex just because it is a gay manga

the ratings are that low because obsession group scanlates shounen-ai and yaoi that cater to the female audience and this is quite far from something a woman would read really...lol

by the way my rating is actually 9 but since the ratings are so low i decided to give it 10

Okay, it has a very different approach towards sex, unlike the "soft, gentle" approach often found in BL. But of course, it's aimed at gay men who go for "bears" or whatever label you'd use. And it's kinda interesting how the relations among the different cast are.
