Love it but...

I agree with Nyokichan the poor An He was continuously raped and humiliated to the point where he decided to commit suicide. Rong Tian didnt care if he was killed. No wonder they called him useless of he was being abused continuously,he was probably traumatized. I dislike Rong Tian, he is nothing but a rapist and was doing it with every intention of humiliating him and reminding him of who had the actual power.

I'm a bit conflicted

On the one hand reading further the relationship between Feng Ming and Rong Tian is the normal resisting uke/forceful seme one that just borders on sexual assualt but is mostly acceptable in Manga world. On the other the relationship that Rong Tian had with the real An He was clearly all in out rape and abuse which makes him a terrible person. It also makes it hard to support this relationship knowing that he raped and abused the real An He so badly he decided to just kill himself...

But otherwise this story has a interesting concept and good storyline, but Gaahhh...I still hope someone better steals Feng Ming away.

The Novel is the Best!

The manhwa's art is beautiful but the Novel is exciting and interesting. Feng Ming uses his knowledge and wit to survive in a land resembling ancient china. The protagonist is at times naive and innocent or brilliant and knowledgable depending on the situations he goes through. Rong Tian his love interest, falls for him HARD. And their 'love scenes' are both endearing, hilarious and not too explicit in my opinion. Their adventures are a mix of modern ideas and ancient problems.

If your looking for a BL novel to entertain you, you should read this!

Dream come true for me

The Art is the highlight of the manga. However, that doesn’t mean that the rest isn’t just as good.

This historical manga is different from Japan’s historical manga, because it’s drawn by a Chinese and thus, touches on historical China rather than Japan.

Is this a big deal? Well… I would say that due to this difference, the setting and plot is a change from the norm.

The manga, sadly, because it has only just covered the front few pages of the actual novel, is currently lacking in plot. For those who really want to advance with the plot, please look into the novel.

The novel does not only center on romance and forced relationships, but rather on the issues of the palace and even affairs with neighbouring countries!

As I have watched quite a number of olden Chinese dramas - especially those by Jin Yong - for this to have BL in it, is a dream come true for me.

(I'm at Volume 13 Chapter 5 of the novel now!)

One of the only BL manhua titles available in English!

I must say this is one of my absolute favorites. I haven't read all that many manhua titles before and I think it's fantastic that this amazing specimen has actually been licensed in English. The only BL manhua to get that kind of distribution that I'm aware of. And it's totally worth it!

The art is amazing! So stunning that it's just such a pleasure to look at. The characters are gorgeous, the wardrobe intricate and the backgrounds detailed without being too cluttered.

The characters, Feng Ming especially, are awesome, and though the seme is definitely a forceful bully in the beginning, Feng Ming is certainly no damsel. He's intelligent and resourceful and an asset to his country.

The fantastical historical setting is beyond intriguing, a world you could happily get lost in forever. A very smart comic!

Sadly, so far it's only possible to read to a certain point until more chapters are scanlated and - God willing - licensed, which is why I'd recommend picking up the novels. It's totally worth it!

It is a delightful extra after reading the novel

Unfortunately, there is not much translation has been done for the novel of this series. But if you can find some, I recommend you to read the novel first and if you like it, read the manhua. Even though the art is wonderfully articulated, the characterization is touched slightly with few conversations between characters. This makes sense though because the illustrator drew this with the mindset that mostly everyone has read the popular novel version. I gave this a 9.9 because the 0.1 belongs to the novel, and only with the novel read this manhua will be enjoyed fully.

So the plot is really rich and strange and the relationship between the king and the prince isn't forced and I want to know what happened to the real prince is he in our time. This needs to be updated I am dying.

I dont enjoy yaois like this at all. It says comedy as one of the genres. LIES! There are like two cute instances and not really cute romance. I haven't read ANYTHING romantic at all in these first four chapters. It wasn't funny and it wasn't sweet. The seme is a jerk and I hate him and I just feel sorry for the uke even though he's a little stupid and isn't acting like he's aware of his situation!

The art was nice though so I'm giving it points for that

of the art is this manhua is absolutely ridiculous! It's very easy to just read the dialogue and skip over the background design, but I'm telling you to slow down and take it all in. I cannot even imagine how much time and manpower it took to create such sumptuous architectural backdrops and costume detail. Amazing.

I originally thought this was a shounen-ai manga, or manhua, when I first read it in raw. Didn't think too deep into it, but the scenes are much more mild than most yaoi mangas. Well... thinking of it now, it was a lil over the top for shounen-ai.

First volume in, can't say much. I'm looking forward to the second volume... while holding myself back from reading the novel. It seems interesting and promising, and the art is beautiful. I fell in love with Feng Nong's works with this one and tried her other series that was adapted into manhua. Pretty good with that one, I expect this one would be too.

It has the same style as most manhuas or older mangas, and perhaps alot of novels as well. Focuses on plot and emotions, and ends in one go. I'm not sure how to word it, but you know how some mangas nowadays drag it out, I tend to find manhuas keep away from that alot better. As for whether it's bad or good, I have nothing to say. I find this makes quite a few manhuas resemble each other perhaps a bit too much, the same way chinese romance novels that only have 3 volumes do. But the plot is nice... I dunno, there's good, there's bad. But definitely better than manhwa with good settings and horrible with everything else.
