Really good so far but...

for the most part i agree with the comment below me, i really like the story for this manga especially Michiru cause it really interesting that since she was composed of all his fantasies since he was a kind, she has powers; that was a smart concept to make. However i must say i agree with the comment below me cause why does it allways have to be on some the "New girl" wins bull ( it this case the senpai is the "new girl" since he "had" michiru first). i mean why wouldnt he chose michiru its your Freakin dream girl how loves you more than anything, to really have a person that is exactly your ideal fantasy is impossible but he got her and now hes treating like that annoying side friend it pisses me off

Good, but that ending!

I wanted to love this manga, I really did. You see, I'm never one for bittersweet endings, and I was routing for Michiru anyways so that ending was both unsatsifying and painful to read. But I already knew the stereotype for the 'winning-girl' in this type of manga, and exactly how they would get rid of the competition, when i started reading. I kept it inside, hoping that this author was different from the rest. So I went and looked up the raws, for an hour I search high and low until I finally found a Ch.33 raw from jCafe. And so I read. And as I feared, the ending was exactly what I expected:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Michiru disappears and Yuuri never sees her again. He dates his Senpai, and writes/draws a story about Michiru. And she'll 'forever be in his heart'. THE FUCKING END.
Jeez, if I wanted Bittersweet-Stereotypical drama, I would've read the hundreds before this one. WHY? Why set up a funny, entertaining story, decent charatcer designs, and lovely characters, IF YOU'RE JUST GOING TO PLAY BY THE FORMULA. God I loved this series early on, but that ending! Sheesh, getting over each toehr and moving on with life could've been better, learning to love different people could've been better, BECOMING A GHOST COULD'VE BEEN BETTER. Hell, Boku wa Tomodachi's infamous 'SHARK END' COULD'VE BEEN BETTER. I find it (stylistically) to be like very mild NTR: it brings your hopes up, and then crushes them all to pieces in front of you.

Source: Read Ch33. RAW.

I have to admit, my impression of the first chapter was pretty much the same as emkat's so I can't fault him there. But don't judge a manga by one chapter. On a whim I decided to read the raws and I loved it. This is *not* your typical ecchi shounen with a spineless protagonist who never commits to anything (or anyone...). There's real character development, conflict, and resolution.

It's all tied up in a neat little package, too. I vastly prefer a short manga with a good ending to something that just drags on and on. And the ending here was fantastic (though sad...but I won't spoil it).

I can't believe nobody seems to be translating this...

Interesting beginning, but a bit cliche

I didn't see anything in the first chapter that stylistically differentiates it from any other manga. Boring guy, love interest, magical girl -> instant triangle! We'll see where the mangaka goes with this, but for now I wouldn't recommend it. Mind you, this after reading the opening chapter, so my evaluation of this may change later on.

Interesting Love Triangle

I love it. You'll think the series will drag on with no progression for these kind of love triangle, but we quickly see development and character progression.

I hope a translation group will pick it up. definitely worth the read

A very different kind of love triangle.

At first sight, this might be a very common theme, especially in a shounen manga. 2 girls and 1 guy. Most people would dismiss it as just another ecchi love comedy title, along the lines of Kannagi in terms of plot.

However, anyone who decides to take a chance will be pleasantly surprised. Because instead of a wishy-washy guy who can't decide between 2 girls, and having a story about the everyday school life of the trio that drags on for 60 chapters, "Kono Kanojo wa Fiction desu" tells you right from the first chapter that the guy has already decided who he likes. And the girl who loves him is a creation of his who was miraculously brought to life by a supposed god of creation. Furthermore, the girl that he likes is also attracted to him, for reasons which might not necessary be love. These characters slowly develop their feelings for each other a little bit at a time in each chapter, and with each chapter, the reader learns something new and gains more understanding for the characters as well.

At this point in time (July 2011), the book is still considered a new title, seeing as how there are only 20 chapters so far, and the first volume has only just went on sale. But with the completion of the latest arc, I am fairly confident in this new title and am willing to call it one of my favourite love comedy and recommend it as such. I can't wait to see how the story will continue now that ...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the boy has confessed his love for the girl he loves and vice versa, his fictional girl has accepted that he doesn't love her anymore, and has issued a challenge to the other girl, saying that she will try to get his love back in a fair fight.

This is what happens if a love comedy series does not end after the guy chooses a girl, or decides on a harem ending.
