When his mother dies in a sudden accident on a honeymoon after her remarriage, the destitute host, Tatsumi, has no idea that her new husband had been the oyabun of a yakuza gang. Knowing who's the author I didn't expect much when I went into this manga, so at least I can say it didn't disappoint me lol. The writing is clearly cliched and outdated even for 2012's standard, let alone now when it's almost the next decade, and both the story and characters are as one-dimensional and predictable as you can imagine. But it's not completely worthless imo; there are a few funny panels in chapter 2 that I like, and as little as it lasted Tatsumi still had some dignity and managed to stand up for himself for a bit (though that effort quickly dissolved into nothing and the wheel of cliches resumed its spin shortly afterwards but ehem we're not talking about that lol). Overall it was just a bland and boring read that left behind neither impact nor enjoyment.
I honestly had a good time reading this. Sure, the story is over-done and found in a lot of other manga series, but to me it was either-way enjoyable. If you're looking for a strong plot line with ongoing volumes just to have a 50% chance of actually enjoying to have read the whole thing, then this is not for you. It's a manga that is short and on the point with little plot development, so I consider this as a easy read. I liked it because I didn't have to invest a lot of my time to remember the characters or their background stories.
Again it all depends on you, to me I really enjoyed it and can't wait to see others from this mangaka.

Well... I don't think its as bad as lifeincircuit says - that said I'm only up to chapter 2
Tatsumi is likeable and the reasons he has for doing what he does seem legit (I have heard worse)
Yoshimune on the other hand is a weirdo – sure honour your fathers will, that fine – first he was kind and friendly then once we find out who he is he's suddenly bi-polar and turns into a perverted jerk for seemingly no reason...

I really couldn't continue. This was very, very cliche in all the worst ways. Even the idea that some sort of relationship may develop between the main characters was both morally and intellectually offensive.
