Description
Adaptation of the Psycho-Pass anime
In the near future, it is possible to instantaneously measure a person's mental state, personality, and the probability that a person will commit crimes with technology called the Dominator. Just thinking about a crime can make you guilty, and in this world there is no mercy for criminals. Detectives work in pairs -one Enforcer and one Inspector- with Enforcers delivering lethal justice, and Inspectors making sure their partners don't take things too far. The story follows an Enforcer Shinya Kougami, who must solve and manage crimes in this dark future.
The first chapter is really good, I enjoyed it a lot, it's really well done. But I wanted to add: I don't know about Mangaholic scanlation, but it seems that Imperial Scans has abandoned the project, they only did the first one... In Japan there're already 4 chapters, the 4th one released. I really hope a scan gets the project soon!
Most manga adaptations from anime usually turn out pretty bad, but so far i'm very impressed by this manga. The art is beautiful and the style is extremely close to amano akira's art, but you can see a few nice differences as well. Reading the first chapter, it's running along the lines of the anime, but there are quite a lot of scenes added, so i believe the characters will be fleshed out a lot more. Everything is great and i look forward to the chapters onwards! *7*)/
I am glad to see that Akane gets more screentime (pagetime?) in the manga. Also, there are more details and more background to see, since the manga is more "free" to do as it pleases than a strict 22-minute episode.
The manga follows the story much better than the anime, adapts Amano's designs impeccably and has a coherent pacing. I'm not saying that the anime is inferior, but the manga adaptations has clear hints to follow. I can't wait to see on how it follows the same path as the anime !
